compulsory education, in-service education or Adult Education

Every student in Thai have to study in the same way, have to have the same

standard, have to be in the same position in the school. Somehow it looks kind not

to be any problem. At this point, I think it an interesting topic to look at because I

think it a beginning problem for the way of learning. At the end, we are all end up

with the exam and go out for work. But suddenly you just notice that something

that you study for more than 10 years are not useful at all.

“I have to study for 15 years or more to be a successful person.” that is how

some people force themselves to learn by didn’t know that they might be wasting

their 10 years to do another thing. Some might not graduate because some

problem that they have. Form my research, I found that in Thai we have people

that quid form the school in year 2012 at grades 7-9 about 20% and some give up

on their study at the middle of their way on grade 10-12 about 43%. This shows

that about half of the population or about 400,000 people do not finish their way or

I mean are not reach the goal of ‘in-service education’. Even some might because

of family problems, social issues or because of lack of financial. This does not yet

count for the kid that has age around 9-12 that didn’t have an education.

Is this because of study is too difficult, is it not reach the standard, or is it

because of education are obsolete. From my research, more than half of the

students that I ask in appendix A did not fully use their knowledge form the

classroom in every day, just only a few percents that can use it fully. I think it

shows how this compulsory education did not work for everyday life. Sometimes I

also don’t understand how I can use history knowledge or pie for the circle to use in

my daily life. On Appendix B about one-third of the student doesn’t like to study

and it’s showing on C, the study does not affect their decisions for the future. This

might be time to change how you study. Now the time has passed. But we are all

steps on the same place didn’t even go forward, I’m not good at study even I try

it’s sometimes just too hard and I think, I have about 28.6 on appendix B and 71.4

in appendix C with me.

For everything, I write about does not go to covert or persuade that study is

bad. Study is a good thing that people in every age can do but I think it’s

something that should be improved in many ways to make it more useful and can

be used in now a day. “Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself.”

John Dewey. To conclude study is one of the very hard ways of learning.
