Age of Exploration Essay

The reasons behind the European "Age of Exploration" included scouting for trade

routes, investigating foreign lands and acquiring wealth. Many explorers were also looking for

adventure, spurred on by tales of the earlier Viking expeditions to the New World. There were

major developments made in the European Age of Exploration that havewesdqa3[;p’/. made

significant strides. Reasons for the Age of Exploration were Protestant Reformation, Religious

Movements, and different types of trading such as Biological and Cultural.

The first act was the Protestant Reformation. The Protestant Reformation is a religious

movement that is characterized by direct and strong relationships with God. The Protestant

Reformation relates to the Great Depression because both times led to period where they went

into a re-building stage because of the big time struggles they were going through. Other

movements such as the Renaissance have led to self-individualization and more confidence

boosters that have led to many great explorations.

The Age of Exploration has brought together certain countries such as Europe, Africa,

Asia, and the Americas. There were two big types of exchange which were Biological and

Cultural. In the biological exchange they traded more environmental supplies such as plants,

animals, and diseases which diseases wasn’t the best thing to be transported. In the cultural
exchange they traded things such as goods, technology, and ideas which all served a purpose.

Goods and Technology help further ideas and can lead to bigger and better things such as newer

developments that could leave a huge mark on the world.

During the Age of Exploration there was also a spread of religions to different parts that

made different impacts. European missionaries traveled to different places to spread their

religion and their beliefs to different places. During the Europeans Age of Exploration, they

traveled to Africa and the Americas to spread what they believe in and what they would do to

make the country turn to the religion they believe in. Their motivations for these was Glory,

God, and Gold. Glory to see their religion and things to flourish where they are, Gold to help

them get through any money struggles that they have, and God to lead them through anything

that goes on in their life and God will always have a plan for you in the future.

In All, the time of the European Age of Exploration made a very positive impact on life

and the future of the world. There were spread of religions, certain trades that led to certain

developments, and the Protestant Reformation that helped in self-centered life. The Age of

Exploration made a lot of changes and boosted confidence in many self-inspired painters and

artists.
