with you. Do you like to drink something sweet? Do you like Boba, soda, or lemonade? Some
of the people do, and for me especially. I really like sweet drinks, because I think it can help
me to concentrate more when I am doing my homework. But imagine, what if I told you that
the drink that you like is actually connected with your personality and gender? There is a rumor
about drinks that consumed by boys and girls. Most of the people tend to assume that girls like
sweet drinks more, while boys tend to choose drinks like soda or cola, which have stronger
feelings in the mouth. Which one do you prefer? Sweet drinks like milk tea or just simply teas?
What do you think about the conclusion that girls tend to prefer sweet drinks rather than boys?
Is this conclusion really true? We can find out the answer in the milk tea shop—T4, which is
also called Tea for U. There are many students prefer to have a cup of drink after class in this
This milk tea shop sells many kinds of drinks. Most of them have some relation to tea,
because just see the name of this shop, Tea for U, surely, it must sell some drinks that relates to
tea! There are many people who come to this shop, and the drink that they choose also varies a
lot. From the first sight, I have to admit, the percentage for boys and girls in this shop are nearly
equal. Sometimes there are more girls, but sometimes, there are more boys. Is it surprise to
you? For me, it is quite surprise to find an answer like that. However, I found that girls tend to
stay longer in the shop, while boys just purchase what they want and leave. From my opinion,
that might because girls like to have some free chat with their friends more, and T4 just offer
them a good place to sit down and chat. Back to our original topic, I interviewed some of them
about the drink that they choose, and the reason for their choices.
Surprisingly, from my interview and observation, girls do not tend to choose something
sweet like milk tea, and what they prefer is tea, or milk tea with less sugar. The reasons that
they give are also very interesting. One of them claims that tea can helps to lose weight. This
is proved by many articles, and one of them that I choose to read is written by Linda Carroll
and Danielle Wolf, who claims that tea can help people reducing the rate of heart attack, stroke,
protect bones and helps weight loss. Some other girls said that drinking too much sugar is bad
for their health, and they only choose drink with less sugar than the normal one. If you also
cared about your own health issue, it seems to be a good idea to try tea or some drinks with less
sugar.
It is also quite surprising to find that boys will also choose milk tea, and some of them
even drink milk tea that is sweeter than the type girls used to choose. One of them claims that
drinking something sweet can help him relax, and milk tea kind of have the effect like
chocolate. That might due to the reason that boys do not care about their weight too much, and
they use more energy than girls. From the article written by Beth Swanson, there are 60 percent
of boys and 47 percent of girls who do participate in youth sports, and the average number
for boys to participate in sport is higher than girls. More exercise can lead to more energy
consuming. Sweet drinks can help them to gather energy. However, there is also a large
percentage of them who choose to drink tea, because they said that tea can help them to work
better in the afternoon classes. So, if you are finding a substitute for coffee, you might want to
To conclude, just from my personal observation, it seems that the rumor of girls typically
prefer sweet drink is probably not correct, and sometimes, boys drink more sweet drinks than
we all imagined! If you are also interested in this topic, maybe take some time and check it by
yourself! It is not a bad thing for people who really like sweet drinks to have them sometimes,
however, having too much sweet in one day may lead to the decrease of health. If you are the
big fan of milk tea, maybe try to have tea one day as a healthier substitute! Thank you all for
listening. Hope you have a great day! Do not forget to grab your cup of tea! Good bye.
