Dear Ms. Faher: 
 
I have loved being one of your students. I feel that i have learned more this year than any other. I 
also read more books this year than i have in the last five years combined. I am going to miss 
the challenge of your class even though it only gets harder from here. You have helped me grow 
as a student, helped me revise my work properly, and helped me think of my future. 
 
I feel i have grown as a reader and writer because you have stayed on top of us and didn't let 
us make up excuses ro reason our actions. My favorite piece we read was siddhartha because if 
feel i learned a lot from the book including life lessons. This book changed my mindset and the 
way i look at things. On the other hand my least favorite book i read was our nonfiction novel, 
shoedog. I learned a lot from the book but the reason i didn't like it was because i wasn't used to 
reading a lot, but you helped us pace ourselves. I feel all the books in total helped us prepare for 
our harder classes ahead. 
 
I also feel I have grown as a writer because you kept us refreshed on how to properly write 
essays. The hardest essay i feel we wrote was the caesar essay because we were inexperienced 
in writing I feel i have grown in all aspects of english because you always gave us a challenge. 
The week we were done with one book we were on to the next followed by a test and essay. You 
kept us sharp in our writing. You taught us how to add citations properly and in a more simple 
way which helped our quality of writing and our speed.this all keeps us on edge and ready for 
whatever you throw at us. Throughout all of our essays my lord of the flies paper had the most 
quality. I added in everything that i learned this year into it including the new citations. yet, 
overall i feel all the challenges you throw at us helps us grow especially in time management. 
 
In all of my essays and pieces the bulk of my revisions were grammar issues. Usually i found 
out by reading over it but others it was peer review. The revisions help us grow and fix our 
mistakes and also shows ourselves what we did wrong and how to fix it. I feel i can grow as a 
reader and writer by doing extra achieves and SAT practices . 
 
In my future i want to be an officer in the military which requires 4 years of college and a lot 
of study work. I will need to practice my reading quality and speed for my goal. I plan to make 
this my goal because it is what i think i will like the most as a job. I will also have to wright a lot. 
Whether it's reflecting on something or sending a letter to a higher up it will be necessary. I can 
see myself doing a lot of personal writings next year or whatever my teacher throws at me. I 
most likely, knowing myself, will only do what is required not anymore because writing isn't my 
strong suit. 
 
I feel i always try to be the best even if it's nearly impossible that's why my six word memoir 
is “i can't be good at everything”. I have changed a lot this year i've become smarter, future 
oriented, and more responsible.i have change my friend groups that were dragging me down 
and even cut people out. The academy has helped a lot with that, it connects me with new 
people and choices and if i could tell my past self anything i would tell me to change my 
mindset a lot earlier.
