ATP rule

• The ATP rule is determined from the material master in MRP 3,

Availability check field (Checking Group for Availability Check)
• The value is copied from the material master into the sales order.
• The checking rule is hardcoded into SAP, for
• Sales order = A
• Delivery = B
• The combination of the Checking Group and Checking rule will
determine the various factors to consider in ATP

Note: The ATP checking rule can be “overridden” via a user exit if required for a business
process. For example, an “emergency” order could use a ATP rule that allows the user of
reserve stock, while normal orders do not.

ATP configuration

For the configuration, we are going to look at

• Define Checking Groups
• Carry Out Control For Availability Check
• Define Procedure For Each Schedule Line Category
• Determine Procedure For Each Delivery Item Category
• Checking Rule For Updating Backorders
• Define Default Settings

ATP Allocation

Allocation can either be

• Soft, in which the allocation of ATP stock can be
changed – Sales orders
• Hard, in which the allocation of ATP cannot be
changed and only release when if the document is
deleted - delivery

Re-allocation
Allows the re-allocation of stock from a sales order
What can be reallocated?
• Only sales order and STO usually referred to as soft allocation, meaning that
they can change
• Hard allocation  Delivery, allocation cannot be changed, unless it is release by
dele

Reallocations have the following used?

Should I use it?

• When you have stock shortages and need to allocation stock
• Prioritization
• Make to stock
