ANSWER:

1. Planning is tantamount to success. If you want to achieve a specific goal, the first thing to do is to craf
a plan leading to its achievement. Planning makes the path clear towards the realization of your
objectives. It serves as a blueprint that will guide you in making correct choices and decisions. It also
provides a general view of what is expected to be achieved and the means and step to undertake to
ensure its accomplishment. It also gives you information on the availability of resources and how to
maximize its potential to the greater extent.

2. Educational Planning is an activity which allow the administrator to orient educational development,
set priorities in consultation with other members, identify interventions, and extend funding support to
achieve the country’s economic and social objectives.

One of the positive result of a successful educational plan is when it able to unified the diversified
sociological element of the society. Such element includes the consideration of the behavior of a
particular social group when it comes to changes in their environment and their aspiration toward
educational. If education effort were able to address this through careful planning on the how to
integrate program that will develop among them the altitude of understanding the importance of
sacrificing certain privileges for the attainment of collective goals within the bound of available
resources, everyone can be able to adapt and adjust itself and still achievement personal growth and
positive achievement.

3. Viability of plan in terms of development and implementation of program must be the foremost of
consideration if the plan is to be successful. This includes the selection of the planning team who will
craf the program, the presentation of the plan to various stakeholder for feedback and approval, the
working team in charge for implementation, and most specially the availability of resources in terms of
physical facilities and monetary fund. Aforementioned factors are crucial, for instance in selection of the
member of the planning team its should include personnel that has the capability or has already an
experience in program planning, stakeholder should be included to have a neutral view, and personnel
from financing is also needed for budgetary consideration. Next is the organization of the working team,
these personnel will be responsible for the program implementation, personnel from this team will be
selected from the organization structure of a particular institution or organization.

PROCESS INVOLVED IN THE PLANNING ACTIVITIES

 Diagnosis is the process wherein the educational planner conducts data gathering in order to get
the needed information to identify the root causes of a particular problem to be able to develop
plan to address its concern. This can be done through interview, observation, and survey.

 Policy Formulation Policy formulation process: creating policies for the organization is an integral
part of the process of planning. In order to ensure that the operations of the organization run
smoothly, proper policies have to be formulated by the managers. However, a comprehensive
process is involved in creating the most suitable policies for an organization.

 Plan preparation includes proper coordination with the team, communication with the
stakeholders, the who, when, where and, how aspect of the plan prior to its implementation.
Such are important to avoid confusion and unnecessary occurrences of situation that may hinder
or deter the implementation of the planned program.

 Monitoring is vital to ensure that the program is moving towards achieving the preset objectives.
There are instances that program might experience setbacks that might affect the program
course of direction. In this scenario if the planning team immediately detected such problem
because monitoring is regularly made, early resolution can be made so that the program can
immediately go back to its track.

2. Among the three (3) strategies for strategic planning, which would you prefer in your institution?
Defend your answer.

Among the three strategic planning, I would prefer the Focus Strategy since it emphasizes the needs of
the targeted group to gain a competitive advantage. Since every community varies in terms of norm,
beliefs, and social orientation it is important to consider and study their life preferences to be able to
inculcate positive change unto them, this is only possible if I will use focus strategy. For instance, our
institution is located in a particular barangay that has a low orientation when it comes to learning.
Observable in the community is the increasing number of out of school youth. Having undergone the
process of root cause analysis the school identified that one of the reason were the lack of family
motivation. Family seems to have a low faith that education can bring positive change into their life. This
serves a challenge for our school to encourage them to bring back their faith in education. This is also
become the basis of our school in crafing program and project that aims to produce competitive learner
that is confident and ready to compete with the world.

1. Present a scenario in your school that utilizes integrated planning. Highlight in your plan where
integrated planning is observed.

Integrated planning or process integration takes place while the plans are being conceived and
formulated and the program is judged from the point of view of its usefulness as a part of the integrated
package of development programs. This calls for a full involvement of the representative people of the
community; thus, everyone is challenged to do his part in all the projects/activities. One of the DEPED
National program is “Every Child is A Reader” this is a system effort aligned to achieving the national goal
for quality education since knowing how to read with understanding is basic in learning more complex
concept which is crucial to the development of a child. In relation to this, our school develop “PROJECT
SEGMA” Sa English Makabasa Agad”, a program which comprises of different reading activities that gears
to improve the pupil’s ability to read.

1. Let us discuss the application of Porter’s generic business strategies in putting up a private school and
excellence.As you will observe school private institution have gone a long way to win the people notion
that they provide more quality education than that of the public institution. They claim that their school
has a more modern facility, well train teaching staff, a comfy classroom environment conducive to
learning, and a lot of achievement in the field of teaching. In return people will choose them over public
school at a higher cost believing that their children will learn better if enrolled to them.

The diagram shows the use of resource based analysis. The physical, human, financial, and institutional
resources is aligned vertically to shows that each resources are equally important. All of this resources
may vary in availability but can be maximize if properly exploited. This means that one has to identify the
areas in which we can utilize these resources to explore its fullest advantage. Failure to do so may lead
to useless consumption without having serve its purpose. Therefore, by applying an RBV analysis to an
institution’s resources, the strategists can better utilize the SWOT analysis because through this we can
identify the strengths of utilizing resources to maximize its advantage and likewise know its weaknesses
arises from the institution’s inability to exploit it. This can be a good basis in making decision.

2. In your school which of the five areas for improving quality in education should be given priority in
planning? Why? Cite scenarios/ situation?

1. Planning for quality and excellence means one has to plan strategically, it involves knowing know how
the socio-economic background and other non-educational factors affect the teaching-learning process.
The capacity to translates generation educational objectives into content, specifications and learning
goals for purposes of curriculum development, and the contents and methods of evaluating results of
teaching-learning conditions or methods.

2. Effective Management and Supervision. I belong to a small school comprises of 7 teachers, including
the Teacher-In-Charge. Quite observable in our school the inconsistency of teachers in the performance
of task when it comes to teaching-learning process, another is the unbalance and unorganized
assignment of duties or coordinatorship among the teacher personnel which usually create confusion
and discouragement among colleagues, also when it comes to stakeholder relationship, inactive
participation for parent is one of the immemorial problem. All of this factors need proper management
and supervision. It is more important that those who lead the administrative staff should thoroughly
know the services inside. They must accept the fact that their main attitude should be one of service to
their former colleagues and the children whom they teach.

Participatory planning is essential in the sense that the planner’s role will no longer be to monopolize or
control the planning function, but to allow others to participate in the process. By becoming an activator
and by providing resources for those who are doing their planning, he will aid development of
educational planners in a nucleus of action. For a plan to be truly participatory and reflective of the
aspirations and needs of the people, it must initially involve in its formulation persons/institutions,
especially those in the local level, who are more directly concerned with the people’s welfare

disadvantages?

1. In preparation of integrated plan one must consider that while the plans are being conceived
and formulated and the program is judged from the point of view of its usefulness as a part of
the integrated package of development programs. This calls for a full involvement of the
representative people of the community; thus, everyone is challenged to do his part in all the
projects/activities.

One of the advantage of integrated plan it that it implements, supports, and reinforce other
development efforts. In this role, it is a vital factor in the overall development planning.
However, disadvantage occurs in the form that since several concern, opinion and ideas were
included in the planning process one might expose to conflicting interest among the members
that can create misunderstanding among participants.

2. My school administrator utilized integrate development planning in crafing the School


Improvement Plan, wherein the involvement of the stakeholder solicited from data gathering
process, through identifying root cause analysis, creating of plan, involvement and participation
on the implementation of the plan solution, up until in the aspect of monitoring and evaluation.
Another signed of integration is vertical and horizontal coordination of our principal with the
hierarchical structure of the bureau to ensure that every initiative is aligned and coordinated
with the policy, and general objectives of the institution.
