There was a case, when I served Korean Airlines, during final walk around under rain I found a small hole in one of landing gear wheel tires worn out of limit. It's just 15 minutes until boarding time. I could have ignored that worn wheel tire making the airplane departure on time, and I wouldn't have to change the tire. But I didn't, I decided to replace the worn wheel tire with a new one, and the captain and Maint. Center acknowledged my request for the flight delayed by 30 minutes, they agreed with me to replace the new one. Replacing the wheel tire under heavy rain was not easy.
