Glow Foods

Glow or body-regulating foods, such as fruits and vegetables, provide the vitamins and
minerals to maintain healthy body functions, as well as fiber for healthy digestion.

Glow Foods are full of vitamins and minerals right?


to keep our skin, hair and eyes bright and glowing.
‘Glow’ foods can keep our immune system strong so that we can fight bugs and
viruses.
Examples of ‘Glow’ foods include all fruits and vegetables.
Brightly coloured fruits and vegetables are full of vitamins and minerals
and we need to eat different types every day.

from every colour of the rainbow are to make sure you’re getting enough ‘Glow’
foods.
But in terms of The Pinggang Pinoy is not meant to replace the current Food Guide Pyramid.
Rather, it aims to serve as a complementing and supplementing tool that will guide Filipinos in
visualizing the recommended proportions per meal, per food group (Go, Grow, and Glow).

“We hope that Pinggang Pinoy becomes the plate of every Filipino and helps contribute in making
a positive change in our nation’s health and nutritional well-being.,” Sandoval says. Remember
that Pinggang Pinoy is a food guide for healthy individuals.
