This portfolio prepared and submitted by (the name stated above) in partial fulfillment of the
requirement in assessment of student learning II. I believe that education is the most important
thing we could have that’s what people always dreamed of to finish our studies with degree so that
in the near future we can be successful in our field of specialization, this portfolio serves as guide
and keys of information regarding with what a teacher do inside the class most especially with the
lessons and examinations. As a learner and a future teacher we are tasked to make this activities
were in we prepare a table of specification as well as formulating test questions and as follows we
conducted examination in our chosen school were we went to Cabeza elementary school. And with
our stay at the school we witnessed that there is diversity among students and as well as teachers,
and I believe that every single student has their different characteristics and they are unique in their
own special way so as a teacher in the near future we must be ready with what would possibly
happen when you are in the field of specialization and we must be versatile and we have enough
courage and patient in dealing with all the needs of the student. Teaching is a bit hard or should I
say the hardest among all of the profession because you need to consider all the things that students
may need. With this portfolio it enables me to be more accurate when it terms of making things
regarding with teaching and this portfolio serves as my sword of experience in the field of teaching.

DOMAIN NO. 1: CONTENT, KNOWLEDGE AND PEDAGOGY

It is a content knowledge and its application within and across curriculum areas. Strategies for
developing critical and creative thinking, as well as other higher order thinking skills. as what
had been stated in the journal of teacher education content knowledge is crucially important to
the improvement of teaching and learning process, for the betterment of the teacher as well as
the learners in imparting knowledge about an specific topic or subject matter, we must have
enough knowledge to something that you need to tell and always remember that you cannot
teach what you do not know that’s why you must know the content of your topic, subject matter
and you must have enough information about an specific topic so that your work and role as a
teacher will become easier, learning occurs most effectively when experts and novices work
together for a common product or goal and are therefore motivated to assist one another.
REFLECTION

I choose to have grade six as my respondent in the said test question implementation and
my subject is science I must say that the book I used is well organized and it has a lot of information
regarding to what topic is being discussed

It is important for us future teacher to know what are the dos and don’ts in the field of
teaching most especially when you are handling such students where every single student has their
unique characteristics, behavior and level of competency when it comes to learning that’s why we
need to consider all of the aspects for the betterment of the students as well you as their teacher,
hence we must give appropriate lesson and topic as well as knowledge to that specific topic you
discussed and one more thing is you must have enough knowledge for you to answer the possible
questions and query of your students, always remember that even if there diversity you must be
good enough to face every circumstances in teaching that makes you become more effective as a
teacher in the near future.
DOMAIN NO. 2: LEARNING ENVIRONMENT

According to educause “learning environment encompasses learning resources and


technology means of teaching, modes of learning and connections to societal and global
contexts, the term also includes human behavioral and cultural dimensions, including the vital
role of emotion in learning, and it requires us to examine and sometimes rethink the roles of a
teacher and students” it demonstrate understanding of learning environments that promotes
fairness, respect, and care too encourage learning. Considering the environment in learning is
the most important thing we need to consider because how can the learners absorb knowledge
and ideas if your classroom or the environment is not conducive for learning when I went to
cabeza elementary school, I saw how was the classroom can be good to the learners and I think
they were good in securing the betterment of classrooms for the learners and also to our school
the DATA CENTER COLLEGE OF THE PHILIPPINES were I use to do my test questioners
and table of specifications and I must say that it is important to consider.
REFLECTION

As I do this part of the portfolio I imagine how was the classrooms as well as the students when it
terms to how the teaching and learning process do with how the environment affects to them. For
me I therefore make sure that my class will become productive and y classroom will become the
best classroom where it is conducive for learning, I am not aiming for a perfect class but I think it
takes time to have such class and classroom to become perfect or almost perfect with this domain
I learned the things we need to obey and the things we need to do and consider for us to become
more efficient and for the learners betterment so that it will be good place to gain new knowledge
and information without any distraction that may cause to students and teachers laziness. We may
encounter such different types of students or their uniqueness to one another that serves for me to
take charge and handle their individual differences that’s why I felt so nervous at first because
basically I don’t know anything from them so step by step basis introduction and then I stated
about my objective to them for my test question implementation while they are answering the test
questioners I imagine myself as their real teacher and the same time me as a real teacher where in
you need to answer their question and queries that makes me become more effective as their
facilitator so far it was a good experience for me it was indeed a great start so that I will no longer
feel what I’ve felt the last time I went to an elementary school.
DOMAIN NO. 3: DIVERSITY OF LEARNERS

Learning however, is not simply about recognizing and affirming differences, learning is a
journey away from the learners comfort zone leaving the relative narrowness and limitation
of the life in this world. As much as learning needs to affirm identity and create a sense of
belonging it is also a process of travelling away from the familiar or should I say bringing
out the best in every student in everyday world of experience, we all know that there is
diversity in every school class or nation that’s why it is your role as the teacher to be more
versatile and understanding in the sense that you must be careful with what you do, say and
make for your learners as what I experienced when we went for the testing of questioners
in cabeza elementary school as well as in teaching drum and lyre in various schools you
can see how every single person you meet is different from the other whether their face
attitude, behavior etc. so it takes guts to be more efficient and more accurate as a teacher
someday. Use strategies responsive to learners with disabilities, giftedness and talent. In
the field of specialization.
Reflection

We must be good enough in taking and answering call of responsibility most especially to
those students how has special needs so that we can easily handle their situation inside the
class as well as outside the classroom and school where socialization takes place, every
child is special, and they their own identity so it is our role as their teacher to guide and
mold them to be better than they are from the very start of class until they will need to
pursuit their life, you are the ones to discover their weaknesses and strength and it’s your
role to improve them as well as bringing out the best in them
As what we have been saying every single moment that every person is different from one
another they may have some similarities but still everybody is unique in their own special
way most especially to the children there are not yet thinking holistically and they may be
concluding things as soon as possible without thinking what would be the possible outcome
and remember that children’s are emotional so beware of the things you might say and do
to them because in just one blink everything will change that’s why its up to you how can
you make things good and crystal clear for the betterment of the students as well as to you
as their teacher.
DOMAIN NO. 4: CURRICULUM AND PLANNING

 According to the questia online research it is the decision making process about the content
and the organization of learning for which the school is responsible. Different group of
people decide on the variety of topics and issues concerned with the educational needs of
pupil.
Teachers are rarely in sole charge of the curriculum fir their class’s work it is the
responsibility of the school’s head teacher, researchers, academics, local authority
administrators, government departments and politicians often exercise influence over the
basis of a school curriculum, setting the broad educational goals. There is a debate on the
role of teachers in planning phase because for some they are solely responsible for
implementation, while for other schools practitioners must be the main planners. Planning
itself is carried out through workshops lectures, meetings, and discussions, writing reports,
papers, handbooks and textbooks. Curriculum planners are found at various levels,
including national state institutional, building teacher team and individual teacher levels.
A well planned curriculum is a result of clearly defined objectives which improves student
learning outcomes. Intended learning result include a deep understanding of the matter and
development of specific skills such as critical and creative thinking, problem solving,
informed decision making, this I can relate in making my tables of specification as well as
my test question because it must be well organized well planned so that it will be better for
you and to the respondents.
REFLECTION

It was a long process in making the table of specification and the test questions first you
need to come up with objectives that serves as your basis in making your questioners that
can benefit for the betterment of the students. And one important thing you need to consider
is you cannot give such questions you did not discussed because it will be very hard for
them and at the same time it will be a shame on you as the teacher because how can they
answer the questions if they don’t have any idea about that topic or that specific question
so we must be aware. While I’m doing my table of specification it takes time for me to
finish because it has a lot of things you need to do, form the thinking of your objectives to
the number of days every topics how many items to be given in every topic to the
percentage and most especially is where you can put every single questions in the kratwal’s
Remembering, understanding, applying, analyzing, evaluating, creating or simply the
RuApAnEC where you need to put in designated part and then after I made my table of
specification I made the set of questions by way of getting information’s to the book I used.
It was hard but it takes courage and patience in making test questions in the sense that you
have a lot of things you need to consider but luckily I made it though it is not perfect but
still it works and it is successful.
DOMAIN NO. 5: ASSESMENT AND REPORTING

 It was stated in the article of St.joachimscps primary school where assessment and
reporting are two important processes in the learning and teaching cycle. Assessing student
learning is an integral part of school classroom. It improves learning and informs teaching.
It is the process through which teachers identify, gather and interpret information about
student achievement and learning in order to improve, enhance and plan for further
learning. Teachers use achievement standards when planning for, assessing and reporting
student learning and achievement. This involves teachers making on going professional
judgement against the curriculum about students’ knowledge, understanding and skills.
Teachers use a range and balance of assessment techniques work samples, teacher
observations, self-assessments, paper and pencil test, assignment work, reading records,
student/teacher consultations, these tasks, together with other assessments techniques,
allow teachers to cater for all learners and learning situations.
Reporting is a process, not simply a format for a printed report card it includes summaries
of student achievement in a printed report. That serves as your basis when your students
are learning and how far their knowledge in class is.
REFLECTION

Difficulty factor and discrimination index

This serves as my guideline if the test question I prepared is easy medium or hard it tells also who
got the highest score and the lowest score at the same time in this phase statistical methods are
used to identify any test items that are not working well, if an item is too easy, too difficult, failing
to show a difference between skilled and unskilled examinees or even scored incorrectly an item
analysis will reveal it, it is a measurement of how well the item discriminates between examines
who are knowledgeable in the content area and those who are not so it is important for you the
difficulty factor and discrimination index for you to know if your test question and every test item
is good for the examinees so that you can assess students according to what they know and what
they do.
REFLECTION

Effectiveness of distractors

One important element in the quality of a multiple choice item is the quality of the item’s distractor.
However neither the item difficulty nor the item discrimination index consider =s he performance
of the incorrect response options or should I say the distractors just as the key or correct response
option must be definitely correct while the distractor must clearly wrong but sometimes there
answers that maybe a possible answer to the distractor should seem likely or reasonable to an
examinee who is not sufficiently knowledgeable in the content area so we must choose appropriate
distractors the may help for the students to think critically and enables them to make a review of
their answer whether the answer they choose is right or wrong so this distractors maybe the key
for them to learn.
REFLECTION

CHECKED TEST QUESTIONS

It was indeed a hard work for me in checking the test questions of the students because I did not
ask the students to help me in checking the test question they answer because as what the school
principal told that no matter what scores they got it is confidential so I must follow him that’s why
I checked the papers one by one and it seems like it feels like I’m lazy but with patience to finish
it I was able to checked all the 28 test questions and many of them got a high score and a few of
them got the a low score because as what their adviser tells me when he checked my proposed test
question is that it is a combination of their past lessons and their lessons in the future days to come
that’s why you cannot blame the students to have a wild guest because there are some instances
that they did not yet tackled the lesson or topic being asked in the test question but overall it was
a good experience for me and for the students why? Because it enable to know the lessons in the
future so that if ever their teacher ask them about they will have at least knowledge or perspective
to that questions that is ask, for me to know what more shall I improve for the betterment of the
test questions and test items that I will make in the near future.
DOMAIN NO. 6: COMMUNITY LINKAGES AND PROFESSIONAL
ENGAGEMENT

Domain number 6 affirms the role of teachers in establishing school- community


partnerships aimed at enriching the learning environment, as well as the community engagement
in the educative process. This domain expects teachers to identify and respond to opportunities
that link teaching and learning in the classroom to the experiences, interest and aspirations of wider
school community and other key stakeholders. It concerns the importance of teachers
understanding and fulfilling their obligations in upholding professional ethics, accountability and
transparency to promote professional and harmonious relationships with learners parents schools
and the wider community for the betterment also of our students their children and the school
where the students study it is our satisfaction that our kids will have a good place to be and a good
environment to gain knowledge.
REFLECTION

It is also important to have a healthy relationship to the students as well as their parents and other
people who used to have one goal which is to have a good school for their children that’s why the
teacher plays a vital role to be the center of all things regarding to the school and class needs with
the help also of the parents that’s why we have the parents and teacher association or the PTA and
the home room classroom officers for them to cater the needs inside the class and as well as the
school it is important to have a healthy relationship between the teacher and the parents and the
people around him or her for them to have a productive team and also as the teacher you must also
consider transparency in all aspects so that if there are queries by the parents as well as co teachers
and head of the school you are ready to answer whatever they may question with that the students
will benefit for a good and peaceful environment of learning
DOMAIN NO. 7: PERSONAL GROWTH & PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Focuses on teacher’s personal growth and professional development. It accentuates


teachers proper and high personal regard for the profession by maintaining qualities that uphold
the dignity of teaching such caring attitude, respect and integrity. This domain values personal and
professional reflection and learning to improve practice. It recognizes the importance of teachers
assuming responsibility for personal growth and professional development for lifelong learning
this is according to the Philippine profession article you must uphold the ethics of a teacher with
this you can be the best of the best among all profession that they may have. It takes a lot of hard
work to be an effective teacher like other careers, there are those who are more natural at it than
others even those with the most natural teaching ability must put in the time necessary to cultivate
their innate talent. Personal growth and development is a critical component that all teachers must
embrace in order to maximize their potentials.
REFLECTION

There are several different ways that a teacher can enhance their personal growth and development.
Most teacher will use a combination of methods to solicit valuable feedback and a lot of
information that will guide and improve their teaching career teaching is an endless learning
because every single moment you are learning something new they should not be afraid to seek
help from and administrator or to his or her co teacher it is accessible for teachers when they need
something is they asked from another who typically knows and he or she may encounter or
experienced that specific problem or question so that you can identify your strength as well as your
weaknesses and change it for the betterment of your teaching career. Experience is perhaps the
greatest teacher. No amount of training can truly prepare you for the adversity that a teacher can
face in the real world so we must absorb all the things they shared to us those advices and critics
that serves as your sword in the battlefield of teaching.
OVERALL REFLECTION

Patience and perseverance is the key in making this portfolio many what if’s in our mind in the
sense that it feels like you are lazy to do this but still I chose to have a very productive days in
making this portfolio there’s a lot of ideas that I input to this work a lot of personal opinion and
perspective, personal experiences that serves as my sword to make this portfolio possible it was
indeed teaching is the hardest profession among all of the profession it is a continuous process as
time goes by you will encounter a lot of struggles, problems as well as new ideas and information
and it makes you become more competitive enough in that profession with this portfolio I have a
lot of things that I am proud to say that It was the fruit of my hard work, form the planning of
lesson, to defining objectives to making my table of specification and test questions and then for
the approval of the school principal to the implementation of the test question to checking and
taking every items difficulty factor and discrimination factor step by step until you rate your
distractor up to this making portfolio I must say that it was a great experience for us not to be afraid
anymore and to be ready for the future with this it was a great experience that I will forever grateful.
