Significance of the study

If this study will be imptemented, many good results will come out
and can help in the school. There are persons too that will benefit in this
study that's why this study is very important. The significance of this
study or term paper to the students is that, students will be able to
concentrate on their study and improve their performance as well.

The importance of this study covers the following sectors:

1. For the school. Late students is one of the biggest problems of the
school that until now cannot be resolved, making it less would give the
discipline office a rest.

2. Parents. They would be satisfied in the improved accademies to their


child.

3. To the communit. It allows district to gather data to help recognize


student attendance in order to provide programs and services that will
encourage students to meet higher academic standards.

Target Audience

This study will target the students of grade 11 in Kananga National


Senior High School who are frequently tardy are more apt to have
attendance and tardiness problems when entering the workforce.

Statement of the problem

Generally this research study aims to identify the reasons why the
students are late in going to school. Specifically this research tries to
answer the following questions:

Q1. what is tardiness ?

Q2. How can we prevent students from being late to class ?

Q3. Does tardiness affect students performance ?

Research Objective:

 To know the effects of tardiness to the grade 11 students of KNHS/


kananga National Senior High School.
 To determine if tardiness could be the one of the root causes of poor
students performances.
 To discover if tardiness is a cause of behavior problems faced in
school.
 To improve the identifies students punctuality on the school timing.
 To know how often times students do commit lateness in class.

Scope Limitation

This research focuses on the students of grade 11 who comes late to


class of Kananga National Senior High School. The respondents are grade
11 students of KNHS/KNSHS 10 students per section and a total of 50
individua. The survey questions will be delimited to obtaining primary and
secondary reasons of tardiness as well as assessing related factors
underlying therewith. Information acquired and provided by students will
be used to confirm or negate he feasible causes w/c were earlier stated.
The results of the survey will then contribute insight in planning and
drafting of the solutions in addressing the said problems being identified
that needs appropriate action.

Definition of terms:

 Punctuality - arriving or doing something at the expected or


planned time; The characteristics of being able to complete a
required task or fulfill an obligation before or previously designated
time.
 Attendance - being present at something , like work or school.
 Habitual. - doing something regularly or repeatedly.
 Punishment. - is the act of inflicting a consequence or penalty or
someone as a result of their wrong doing or the consequences or
penalty itself.
 Tardy/ Tardiness - being late for any measurable length of time past
the stated or scheduled start time for work or school.
 Impede - delay or prevent ( someone or something ) by obstructing
them; hinder
 Lateness - the fact or quality of happening or arriving after the
expected or usual time; unfunctuality.
 Self - regulation - is the ability to respond to the ongoing demands
of experience with the range of emotions in a manner that is socially
therable and sufficiently flexible to permit spontaneous reactions as
well as the ability to delay spontaneous reactions as needed.
 Millennial Generation - Also know as generation Y or gen Y, are the
generational demographic cohort following generation X and
proceeding Z.
 Dullness - lack of interest or excitement.
 Disrupt. - Interrupt ( and event , activity, or process ) by causing a
disturbance or problem.
