EUNSUNG TESTIMONY: “LEE SEUNGHYUN, I DID

NOT WITNESS ANY TRAIL OF ABUSE.”
Former The East Light members, Lee Eunsung and Lee Seunghyun testifies together regarding
the case of Moon Young Il PD assault and violence case.

In Lee Seunghyun assault case against Moon Young Il PD, CEO Kim Chang Hwan and Director
Lee Jung Hyun attends the fourth hearing as witnesses. They testified that, “the problem is we
did not see any injury on Lee Seunghyun at the time of the assault.”

The Seoul Central District Court Team 16 held a fourth trial against Moon Young Il PD on the
afternoon of June 7th 2019 at 2PM, Kim Chang-hwan, and Lee Jung-hyun, who allegedly
assaulted The East Light's former members Lee Seokcheol and Lee Seunghyun. Also present
at the hearing were former The East Light members Lee Eunsung and Jung Sagang who
attended as witnesses.

Lee Eunsung in his testimony said, “Moon Young Il PD did not punish us in the beginning.
Instead, he only did so (physical punishment) when we repeatedly do not listen to him. After all,
the punishment is also something agreed upon by all the members.”

Regarding Lee Seunghyun’s claims of being confined and assaulted by Moon Young Il PD, this
is what Lee Eunsing said: “At the time, we were also called into the studio. The atmosphere at
the time wasn’t bad. I didn’t see any traces of blood or any wounds on Lee Seunghyun.”

In October of last year, two members of The East Light, Lee Seokcheol and Lee Seunghyun,
made a press conference to state that they have been abused since 2015 by their producer
Moon Young Il PD. They claimed that the CEO of Medialine Entertainment, was aware of it but
did nothing to reduce the abuse.

Kim Chang Hwan later stated that he apologises for not being able to handle and manage his
employees well, resulting in the abuse and assault. However, he claimed that the allegations in
which he abated and participated in assault, violence and abuse were unfounded, stating, “I
have never helped or condoned any form of physical punishment.”

Media Line Entertainment immediately called for a press conference soon after, and claimed
that the Lee brothers were making exaggerated and distorted claims. They said that other
members of The East Light are witnesses and will testify against those claims.
Brothers Lee Seokcheol and Lee Seunghyun have filed a lawsuit against Moon Young Il PD,
CEO Kim Chang Hwan, Director Lee Junghyun and the police.

The investigation committee of the Child and Criminal Investigation Department of Seoul Central
District Public Prosecutor's Office have charged a special assault charge towards Moon Young
Il PD and arrested him. They have also charged Kim Chang Hwan and Lee Junghyun for
violating child welfare law.
