2. Distinguish functions of different parts of MS PowerPoint Presentation
3. Apply features of a slide presentation tool

PowerPoint 2013 is presentation software that allows you to create dynamic slide
presentations. Slideshows can include animation, narration, images, videos, and much
more.

PowerPoint 2013 is similar to PowerPoint 2010. If you've previously used PowerPoint


2010, PowerPoint 2013 should feel familiar. But if you are new to PowerPoint or have
more experience with older versions, you should first take some time to become familiar
with the PowerPoint 2013 interface.

PARTS FUNCTION
Quick Access Toolbar Let’s you access common commands no
matter which tab are selected on the Ribbon.
The Ribbon Contains the commands you will need to
perform common tasks in PowerPoint
Microsoft Account From here, you can access your Microsoft
account information, view your profile, and
switch accounts.
Ruler The ruler is located at the top and to the left
of your current slide. The ruler makes it easy
to align text and objects on your slide.
Slide Navigation Pane The slide navigation pane allows you to view
and work with the slides in your
presentation.
Slide Pane Here, you can view and edit the selected
slide.
Vertical and Horizontal Scroll Bars Click, hold, and drag the vertical or
horizontal scroll bar depending on what part
of the slide you want to see.
Notes Click Notes to add notes to your current
slide. These notes can help you deliver your
presentation.
Comments Reviewers can leave comments on any slide.
Click Comments to view comments for the
current slide.
Slide View Options Adjust your slide view by choosing one of
the following:
• Normal View is selected by default. This
view shows the slide navigation pane and the
selected slide.
• Slide Sorter displays smaller versions of all
of the slides in the presentation.
• Reading View hides all editing tools to
make your slides easier to review.
• Play Slide Show will play your slides as an
actual presentation.
Zoom Control Click and drag the slider to use the zoom
control. The number to the right of the slider
reflects the zoom percentage.
You can also click the Fit slide to current
window button to the right of the zoom
control.

4. APPLICATION
Everybody may participate. Follow the instruction written on using the Presentation and
its features.
1. Open the PowerPoint Presentation 2013 from the start screen
2. Choose the Blank Presentation Template
3. From the Slide Pane click the textbox written Click to Add Title
4. Go to the Ribbon, find Home and font style. Find Courier New font style.
5. On adding the title, encode capitalized words “I love Philippines”
6. Highlight the words by dragging the mouse from the beginning to the word up
to its end. Choose the font size 84.
7. Click the textbox written Click to add subtitle
8. Go to the Ribbon, find Home and font style. Find Lucida Calligraphy font
style.
9. On adding the subtitle, encode sentenced case words “It’s more fun in the
Philippines!”
10. Highlight the words by dragging the mouse from the beginning to the word up
to its end. Choose the font size 40.
11. Finish your work by choosing any available design. Find from the Ribbon the
Design and find your own aesthetic.

Research about new features of MS PowerPoint 2013
1. Research about its difference from MS PowerPoint 2007 and MS PowerPoint
2010.
2. Research the Tabbed Ribbon System of MS PowerPoint 2013.
3. Read and study the Tabbed Ribbon System of MS PowerPoint 2013. Is there a
new command on the Ribbon System, what are those?
