Description
Medium viscosity, 100% solids, high modulus epoxy adhesive, designed for bonding fresh concrete to
hardened concrete as well as hardened concrete to hardened concrete. Exceeds ASTM C881, Type
I, II, IV, and V, Grade 2, Class B and C.

Main Applications
Designed for bonding fresh concrete to hardened concrete or hardened concrete to hardened
concrete. Admix Epoxy Bond provides a tenacious bond to several construction materials making it
ideal for anchoring bolts, dowels, rebar and metallic fixtures.

Advantages and Benefits

 Provides a tenacious bond that exceeds ASTM C881 specifications.
 Extended pot life of up to 100 minutes (23°C, HR= 50%).
 Convenient 1:1 by volume mix ratio that can easily be mixed on site.
 Medium viscosity formula.
 Moisture tolerant and high chemical resistance.
 Can be used as a repair product when used with clean, dry, well graded aggregate.
 100% solids, solvent free.

Application Instructions
Surface Preparation
Surface must be sound and clean. Remove any surface laitance, loose material, grease, oil, curing
compounds, mold release agents or any other products that may interfere in the bond interface. The
surface profile should be mechanically abraded. Vacuum any dust or foreign material (preferred
method to blowing with compressed air). When using on metallic surface, abrade to a white metal
surface.
Mixing:
Condition material to 18 - 30 °C (65°-85°F) before proceeding. Make sure the air and surface
temperature is above 5°C (40°F). Premix each component separately. Place 1 part by volume of
component B into a clean pail and add 1 part by volume of Component A slowly on top. Mix using a
low speed drill equipped with a Jiffy mixer and paddle. Avoid air entrapment. Scrape sides of pail and
mix until a homogenous, streak free, uniform grey product is achieved. Prepare only enough product
that can be used within the pot life.
Placement
To bond fresh concrete to hardened concrete (or hardened concrete to hardened concrete), apply
Admix Epoxy Bond by roller, brush, or spray making sure the product is worked into the surface of the
concrete at 20 mils (0.50 mm). Place hardened concrete or fresh concrete while the product is still
tacky.
To bond hardened concrete to hardened concrete, apply at a maximum thickness of 1/8” (3 mm)
and clamp both pieces for up to 24 hours.

Anchoring rebar, bolts, threaded rods, dowels, etc:

The depth of the hole should 10 – 15 times the bolt diameter and the annular space around the bolt
should not exceed 1/8” (3 mm). Always pour Admix Epoxy Bond into the hole from the bottom up.
Insert the bolt in a twisting motion to avoid entrapment of air. The hole should be completely full of
epoxy when done.
Epoxy repair mortar:
To produce epoxy mortar for interior repair, slowly add Admix Epoxy Sand to Admix Epoxy Bond mixture
to obtain a homogeneous mixture. Mix 1.0 to 4.0 parts of aggregate to 1 part of Admix Epoxy Bond to
the desired consistency. Apply Admix Epoxy Bond as a primer and place epoxy mortar by working the
material well onto the primer while it is still tacky. Apply in 1” to 1-1/2” (2.5 - 4.0 cm) thick layers, waiting
for it to reach initial setting before placing next layer.
Cleaning
Clean tools immediately using xylene, toluene, or similar cleaners while still wet.

Precautions and Recommendations

 For professional use only.
 Mix complete units of component A and B is recommended.
 Open time will decrease as the temperature increases.
 Do not apply to surfaces at temperatures below 5 ° C (41 ° F) or higher than 35 ° C (95 ° F).
 Product is an irritant and should be handled with using appropriate Personal Protection Equipment.
Use gloves, goggles, shoes and appropriate clothing. See Safety Data Sheet for more information.
 Wait at least 21 - 28 days after placing the concrete, depending on the curing conditions.
 Do not use to seal cracks under hydrostatic pressure.
 Do not heat epoxy.
 Anchor design and configuration must be approved by a structural engineer.
 Do not use as a coating.
 Do not thin.
 Use with adequate ventilation.
