LLCMS115 rev01

Description
Medium range water reducing concrete admixture and retarder designed to meet the demands of
the ready mix concrete industry. Its properties permit the concrete mix to retain slump for extended
periods of time without the need of adding water.

Applications
Admix DT is used wherever slump retention is key especially beneficial when extended slump life or
long haul deliveries in hot weather concreting are required.

Benefits
• Retains slump in hot weather above 38°C.
• Reduces the water content in a concrete mix by up to 12%
• Provides concrete with better finish due to its increased workability.
• Increases compressive strength when compared to a mix without admixture (control)
• Increases the density of hardened concrete, making it less permeable and increases flexural
strength.

Mix Instructions
Add Admix DT after adding 70% of the water specified in the mix design without exceeding the
maximum dosage rate. Mix for 3 – 5 minutes.

Use 3.85 – 7.7 ounces per 100 lbs of cementitious material (2.5 – 5.0 mL per kg) depending on the
desired water reduction and retardation the application requires. Higher dosage rates are
acceptable when prior performance testing using project specific materials has been validated.

Properties
Appearance: pale amber liquid.
Density: 1.12 kg/liter (9.33 lbs/gal)
Conforms to: ASTM C-494, Type D

Handling and Storage

In original, closed container, without being exposed to the elements (water, sunlight, etc) up to 12
months after manufacture.

Precautions and Recommendations

• Cannot be used with other retarding admixtures.
• Consult with Lazarus & Lazarus when used in combination with other concrete admixtures.
• A delay in set time may occur when the suggested dosage rate is exceeded. Please consult with
Lazarus & Lazarus for taking necessary precautions.
• Please consult with Lazarus & Lazarus when field conditions require a higher dosage rate that
exceeds 7.7 oz/100 lbs of cement (5.0 mL/kg). Prior performance testing should be performed on
project specific materials.
