1. Reset the HP printer to default via the Setup Menu Service [as (1) above]
2. Turn the HP printer off.
3. Click: Windows 7 globe -> Devices and Printers.
4. Remove the HP printer (in my case HP LaserJet P2050 Series PCL6) by right-
clicking the printer icon and clicking Remove Device. (I left my existing HP
Deskjet F380 printer alone as it was the HP Laserjet P2050 that was printing the
GET command).
5. Left-click (once) a printer icon in the Devices and Printers white pane (I
clicked my remaining Deskjet). Now, at the top of the Devices and
Printers white pane, left-click Print server properties, then in the new window
select the Drivers tab.
6. In the Drivers tab, highlight the driver of the HP printer printing the GET
command and select Remove, then select Remove driver and driver
package. [I tried to remove the HP Laserjet series from the Drivers tab but it
said it was in use, so I rebooted and tried removing HP Laserjet series again
from the Drivers tab (steps 5 & 6 again) - this time it removed the driver
properly].
7. Turn the printer on and Windows should automatically install the correct driver.
It’s been working since, time will tell...
