805. Loài Người sầu vì ngã,

Mọi chấp thủ vô thường,
Trống không là đời này,
Thấy vậy sống không nhà.

812. People ‘grieve’ for what is mine

Though Possessions are not permanent
And subject to destruction
See this and homeless dwell (trans by Khantipalo mill)

(At death a person abandons what one construes as mine.

Realizing this, the wise should’t incline to be devoted to mine (Sutta Nipāta 4.812)

Socanti janā mamāyite,

Na hi santi niccā pariggahā;
Vinābhāvasantamevidaṃ
Iti disvā nāgāramāvase.


919. Hãy giữ được an tịnh,

Về phía tự nội tâm,
Tỷ-kheo không cầu tìm,
An tịnh từ chỗ khác,
Với người được an tịnh,
Từ phía tự nội tâm,
Ðã không có tự ngã,
Từ đâu có vô ngã.

926. Totally calm within himself

A bhikkhu would not seek peace from another
For one who is at peace with themselves,
There is nothing to hold on to, still less to put down

Ajjhattamevupasame,
Na aññato bhikkhu santimeseyya;
Ajjhattaṃ upasantassa,
Natthi attā kuto nirattā vā.
