First Quarter –PHYSICAL EDUCATION
DAY 1-3

I. Objectives

At the end of a 50 minute discussion the students are expected to:

• describes the meaning and importance of managing lifestyle and weight.


• determines risk factors for lifestyle diseases (obesity, diabetes, heart disease)
• demonstrates understanding of lifestyle and weight management to promote
societal fitness.

II. Lesson Proper

A. Recall
The teacher will ask the students about the previous topic.

B. Motivation
Let the learners watch a video that is related to the topic. Ask the learners on what are
the benefits of attending a Zumba Class.

C. Presentation of the Lesson


The teacher will show different pictures that are related to the topic.

D. Development of the Lesson


1. Describes the meaning and importance of managing lifestyle and weight using a
power point presentation.

2. Determines risk factors for lifestyle diseases (obesity, diabetes, heart disease)
3. Demonstrates understanding of lifestyle and weight management to promote
societal fitness by using a power point presentation and a watching a video clips.

E. Generalization
Many aspects of your life are connected to your weight and lifestyle. Your choice
of food is only a part of them. Your age, gender, inherited characteristics, sleeping
habits, physical activity, and many others are also to be considered. Remember that
these aspects are attributed to your well-being, susceptibility to diseases, among
others. That is why you should be aware of the practices that affect your lifestyle,
especially when it comes to your weight and nutrition.
Risk factors to our health include thethings that we do in our everyday lives and
the physiological characteristics that we inherit from our parents. They should be taken
seriously. Being aware of these risk factors as well as doing something to prevent and
Counteract their effects are important. Engaging in active recreational activities is
highly promoted as one means of promoting a healthy lifestyle.
