Overview
The Level 4 Diploma in Business and Administrative Management is a 120 credit
size qualification, equivalent in size and level to the first year of a bachelor’s degree
and is part of a flexible suite of administrative management qualifications.
Description
Although the primary purpose of the qualification is to support progression to Level 5
learning, through this Diploma you will acquire a range of knowledge and
understanding and develop some of the key skills required to work as an
administrative manager in any sector. The qualification will support you if you are
newly appointed to a first management position to develop in your role, as well as
providing a strong foundation of relevant knowledge, understanding and skills if you
are seeking a first management role. You can select optional units in particular
specialisms to match your current responsibilities or support your career
development.
Learners must complete the eight mandatory units, worth 100 credits, and two
optional units worth a minimum of 20 credits
You will take 8 mandatory units including:
Fundamentals of Administrative Management
Administrative Systems
Managing Operations
Managing Quality
Personal Effectiveness
Managing People in Organisations
Managing Information and Knowledge
Finance for Administrative Managers.
You must add a minimum of two further units from the following:
Administration for Executive Assistants
Introduction to Islamic Finance
Managing Business Facilities
Management Accounting: Costing and Budgeting
Marketing Intelligence
The Internet and E-business
Business Events Management.

In order to apply you should have either:
Career path
Having gained a broad foundation of knowledge, understanding and skills relating to
business and administrative management across sectors.You could also choose to
take a sector-specific route by taking a more specialised management qualification
such as the ATHE Level 5 Extended Diploma in Management.
