I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson the students are expected to:
1. Identify tools, equipment, and utensils needed in preparing appetizers;
2. Explain the uses and importance of the kitchen utensils needed in preparing
appetizers;
3. Demonstrate the proper use of kitchen utensils needed in preparing appetizers.

What are those? Cutting board - It is a board used for cutting


fruits and vegetables.

Potato Masher - It is designed to press


potato and cooked vegetables.

Butter curler - It is used for making


butter curls.

Chiller - It is used for keeping cold


foods chilled for service.

Oven - It is used for baking.

Spatula - It is used for manipulating foods


like spreading.

Kitchen shear - It is a cutting device for


ingredients like scissors.

Zester - It is used to remove zest or


citrus peels in thin strips.

Ball cutter - It is a sharp edged scoop for


cutting out balls of fruits and vegetables.

French knife - It is used for chopping, slicing


and dicing.
