MBA DOUBLE DEGREE
MBA students have the opportunity
to obtain a double degree by
successfully completing the
programme at KU Leuven and
Montpellier Business School.
The Master of Science in Business Administration (MBA) is a one-year master’s programme
taught in English. The MBA is designed to challenge you to think, perform and grow towards a
successful launch of your career and to prepare you to move on to leadership positions ‒ from
supervisory to more senior roles ‒ in entrepreneurial start-ups, multinational companies or non-
profit organisations. The MBA’s specific design allows you to tailor your individual programme
to your own preferences and ambitions through the choice of track and electives. Our MBA’s
interdisciplinary approach also prepares you to address and solve business problems by drawing
on insights and experiences from multiple disciplines, perspectives and cultural backgrounds.
The diversity of our programme is indeed impressive: about 60 nationalities are represented.
The MBA strongly focuses on the development of leadership skills and the importance of ethics,
sustainability and corporate responsibility. It has a managerial focus and is designed to
provide you with academic knowledge as well as hands-on expertise, enabling you to be
successful in different (international) management positions. The MBA programme can be followed
in Antwerp or Brussels.

adaptable programme to leverage your skills. One year in a multicultural and truly international

Business-oriented
We invite international managers and government officials to share their experiences during
guest lectures. You will acquire valuable managerial skills through company cases and the master’s
thesis. The emphasis is on decision-making, teamwork, dealing with other cultures, time management
and communication skills.
Do business in the heart of Europe
Antwerp, a metropolis with a village atmosphere, is famous for its creative vibe. It hosts a broad
range of fashion designers, boutiques and pop-ups and has been the indisputable leader in the
diamond trade for at least five hundred years. Additionally, at the crossroads of major traffic and
trade routes, Antwerp boasts a strategic location in Europe. Its port attracts world-famous logistics
and shipping companies and major maritime service providers. As a student, you’ll find a lot of
entertainment opportunities in this dazzling city.
Brussels, host to the European Union and NATO, is a cosmopolitan city that tens of thousands
of international civil servants, diplomats, journalists, and expats call ‘home’. Yet, its many districts
have largely kept their own, often village-like, atmosphere: Dansaert with its designer boutiques,
Schuman and Jourdan at the heart of the European district, or the Marollen, Brussels old popular
neighbourhood with its daily brocante market. Brussels has direct train connections to Amsterdam,
London, and Paris. Located within walking distance from the Grand Place, our campus in Brussels
allows you to study in one of the main economic and political decision-making centres in the

Programme
The 60 ECTS MBA allows you to tailor your individual programme to your personal interests and
career goals. The core module is designed to prepare you for leadership positions, in a variety
of roles. The track module offers you the possibility to develop an in depth understanding
of one field in general management or to specialise in a functional domain. For your
master’s thesis you will carry out scientific research into a business-relevant or economic subject.
It gives you the opportunity to demonstrate your analytical skills as well as your ability to synthesise
and to develop your oral and written communication skills.

The electives allow you to further tailor your programme with two elective courses. With a clear
focus on developing your professional skills, the electives will also give you the opportunity to take
part in various business projects, in which you will work together with other students of various
disciplines to solve a real business problem.

International focus
The programme offers two double degree programmes for selected students which allows
you to obtain a degree from two highly ranked universities. The European Programme in
Management, which involves a double degree with Montpellier Business School, consists of
two years of study with two semesters in Brussels or Antwerp and two semesters in Montpellier.
The double degree with Kedge Business School (Marseille) consists of three semesters in
Brussels or Antwerp and Marseille. Both double degrees include an internship.

You may also be interested in the possibility to complete an extra-curricular traineeship or to

go on an exchange via an extended master’s programme.

Admission requirements
To be eligible for direct admission to the MBA programme, you must have obtained a degree
that is equivalent to our BSc in Business Administration. Information on direct admission and
programme admission after either a bridging or preparatory programme can be found on the
webpages listed below.
As part of the application procedure you have to provide evidence of your English proficiency
as good knowledge of the English language is essential. You will be asked to submit a TOEFL
or IELTS certificate. If you have already completed an English-language programme (academic
or secondary education) in an Anglo-Saxon country, your degree will be considered sufficient proof
of your English proficiency.
GMAT/GRE-test results are to be included in the application. Students with a higher education
degree from a Belgian university, students with a degree from a partner university of the
KU Leuven Faculty of Economics and Business and students with a degree from a university
ranked in the global top 200 in the most recent edition of THE or QS World Ranking are
exempted from the GMAT-GRE requirement.

As a Master of Business Administration you are well prepared to take up a position in a wide
range of national and international companies and sectors. Depending on your own personal
interests and career goals, an MBA degree will give you access to positions in purchasing,
sales, marketing, production control, planning and budgeting, financial management, ICT, banks
and insurance companies, the civil service, the European institutions, or you can start your own
company. You will have acquired a master’s degree but the programme also widens your
