 Create problems involving division without or with any other operations of whole
numbers including money with reasonable answers.
Value Focus: Being generous and having close family ties
Being cooperative
II. Subject Matter:
 Creating Problems Involving Division without or with any Other Operation of
Whole Numbers
Reference: K to 12 Grade 4 Curriculum Guide, LM Math Grade 4 pages 77 to 80.
Materials: charts of word problems and exercises, strips of cartolina with word
expressions written on it, activity cards.

III. Procedure:
A. Preliminary Activities
1. Prayer
2. Greetings
3. Checking of Attendance
4. Drill
Have a drill on identifying operations suggested by word clues.
What operation is suggested by the following words/phrases?

5. Review
What are the steps in solving word problems?
6. Motivation

Kathleen collected 28 recipes for salads. She divided them equally

into different categories. Fruit salad is her favorite category. How
many are in each category?

Can you solve the problem? Why? Why not?

What is the needed information for you to solve the problem?

B. Developmental Activities
1. Presentation
Post the jumbled word problem on the board.

How many of her Each ticket costs She has Php500

cousins can she invite? Php85

Cindy wants to invite her cousins to see a volleyball

game with her.
2. Discussion
Can you arrange the sentences to form a word problem? Can you do it by
group?
Give ample time for the pupils to work by group

Solution Cindy wants to invite her cousins to see a volleyball game

with her. She has Php500. Each ticket costs Php85. How many
of her cousins can she invite?

Do you all agree that this is the correct arrangement?

Now, let us solve the problem. Do it with your groupmates and ask someone
to show her solution on the board.
Answer: So Cindy can invite 4 of her cousins to watch the volleyball game
with her since 1 ticket is for her.

Valuing:

 Do you also share your blessings with them?

3. Fixing Skills
Arrange the datas written on the cartolina.

C. Application
Divide the class into three groups. Let them choose a leader and a secretary.
Give each group an activity card with the data to be use for creating a
problem. Then let each group posts its work on the board. The leader will
report to the class the word problem they have created and the solution and
answer to it.
