Structure and performance characteristics of cement blanket
The cement blanket is made of a 3D fibre matrix woven from polyethylene and polypropylene filaments and contains
a specially formulated dry concrete mix. The main chemical components of calcium aluminate cement are AI203, CaO,
Si02, Fe203. Underside of canvas there is a polyvinyl chloride (PVC) backing to ensure that the cement blanket is
completely waterproof. When on-site construction, no concrete mixing equipment is needed on site, as long as it is
simply watered on the cement blanket or immersed in the water to make it hydrate. After solidification, the fibers act
to reinforce the concrete and prevent cracking. Currently, cement blankets are available in three thicknesses: 5 mm,
10 mm, 30 mm.

2) Rapid solidification molding
Once the hydration reaction occurs in the watering, the size and shape of the cement blanket can still be
processed within 2 hours, and it can harden to 80% strength within 24 hours. It can also be specially
formulated to achieve rapid solidification or delayed solidification according to the special requirements of
the user.
3) Environmentally friendly
Cement blankets are a low-carbon technology that, in many applications, uses up to 95% less material than
conventional concrete. Its alkali content is limited and the flushing rate is very low, so the impact on the local
ecology is small.
4) Application flexibility
The cement blanket has good drapability and can conform to the complex shape of the surface of the covered
object, even forming a hyperboloid shape. The cement blanket before solidification can be cut or cut at will by
ordinary hand tools.
5) Material strength
The fibers in the cement blanket act to enhance the strength of the material, prevent cracking, and absorb
impact energy to form a stable failure mode.
6) Long-term durability
The cement blanket has good chemical resistance, weathering resistance, and no UV degradation under
sunlight.
7) Waterproof properties
The bottom of the cement blanket has a waterproof layer that makes it completely waterproof and enhances
the chemical resistance of the material. 8) Fire protection characteristics
The cement blanket does not support combustion and has good flame retardant properties. The smoke is
small when it is on fire, and the dangerous gas emissions are extremely small. The cement blanket has
reached the B-sl, d0 rating of the European building materials flame retardant standard.
8) The cement blanket does not support combustion, has good flame retardant properties, and the smoke is
small when it catches fire. There are very few dangerous gas emissions. The cement blanket has reached the
B-SL of the European building materials flame retardant standard D0 level.

After the initial hydration reaction, the cement blanket should be re-watered at least once between one and two
hours. This is especially true in hot, dry weather because evaporation of water can cause excessive drying of the
concrete.
Product HJ008 Cement blanket is the most prone to over-drying. No matter what the weather, one to two hours
after the hydration reaction, it should be re-watered one or more times.
Never spray water directly onto the concrete blanket with a high-pressure water spray gun, otherwise the
surface of the cement blanket will be flushed into a groove shape. If the cement blanket is not adequately
protected by water, solidification will be delayed and the strength of the material will decrease. If the
solidification time is delayed, it should be re-watered with a large amount of water. The cement blanket can be
used under water, and the hydration reaction can occur sufficiently because it is immersed in water.
4) Strength
The initial strength of the cement blanket is very high, which is a basic feature of this material. Typical strengths
and physical characteristics are as follows:
a) Compressive strength test in accordance with ASTM C473-07
—10 days compression failure stress 40 MPa
—10 days compression Young's modulus 1500 MPa
b) Bending test in accordance with BS EN 12467: 2004
—10 days bending failure stress 3.4 MPa
—10 days bending Young's modulus 180 MPa
c) Abrasion resistance test in accordance with DIN 52108
- similar to ceramic wear resistance up to 0.10 g/cm2
d) Mohs hardness 4-5
e) CRB puncture resistance according to EN ISO 12236: 2007 (HJ008 only)
- Minimum propulsion penetration 2.69 KN
- Maximum burnout peak 38 mm
f) Resistance to vehicle loading in accordance with EN 1991-1-1: 2002 (HJ008 only)
- Meet the G class to come
- 2 axle vehicle gross weight 30-160Kn
- evenly distributed loads do not exceed 5 kN / square meter

The material can be laid vertically and horizontally. Be sure to level the substrate, otherwise it will affect the
appearance quality!
4) Seam treatment
1. Dig 10cm in the lateral direction of the adjacent two cement blankets, the depth is twice the pit of the cement
blanket, put the cement blanket joint at the stacking place and flatten it.
2. Press the cement blanket above the cement blanket in the direction of the water flow at 10cm.
3. Apply special glue to the joint evenly.
4. Fix the two pieces of cement blanket with φ5*38mm stainless steel screws.
5) Groove edge treatment
Fix the edge of the material on the edge of the groove with rivets, and fix it with rivets. After fixing, cover the
edge with soil.
6) Watering cure
Before the watering, it is necessary to inspect and check the whole of the laying. After passing the water, it can
be watered! Each tank needs to be watered 9kg (thickness is calculated by 10mm) to be poured. Don't pour less
water. Sprinkle water evenly from the edge to the middle. It is best to spray it. The flow rate is 4000ml/min until
the color of the cement blanket becomes darker. Never use a water column with a lot of pressure! It is forbidden
to step on the water after pouring. When the temperature is <5 °C, the heat preservation measures should be
taken; when the average temperature is higher than 30 °C, the surface should be covered with plastic film or
geotextile, keep it moist, and the watering maintenance time should not be less than 3 days
