Primary Feelings

Introduction
This CD-ROM features a collection of images designed to develop a solid understanding of
feelings and emotions. It will help students to establish an awareness of their own feelings and
those of other people. They will learn to manage their emotions effectively, and to recognise and
respond to the feelings of other people.

The understanding of feelings and emotions is an essential part of developing self-awareness,

building friendships and learning to empathise with friends and family.

The 30 images cover a wide range of experience and include both positive and negative
emotions. Students will identify with images that mirror their own experiences, and will be able
to ascertain the feelings of the people in each situation.

This CD-ROM allows for a wide variety of different interpretations as to what the thoughts and
feelings of the various characters in the images are.

Using the posters

The series is sold as a CD-ROM, which allows the images to be used as many times as you
wish.
Print the images as often as you need them, in A4 and A5 formats.

Guidance booklet

The accompanying guidance booklet offers easy-to-understand explanations for the 30 main
images, which can be read out or elucidated on to encourage discussion. The disc also contains
an additional 100 images depicting a range of feelings and emotions for discussion.

There are also a number of questions for discussion, to accompany each image. Use these
questions to explore the feelings being expressed on the posters, or to develop students’
understanding of feelings still further by using them as starting points for class discussions.
