Core Subject Title: General Mathematics No. of Hours/Semester:

Preprequisites (if needed)

Core Subject Description: At the end of the course, the students must know how to solve problems involving rational, exponential and logarithmic functions; to solve business-related problems;
and to apply logic to real-life situations.

Culminating Performance Standard: The learners are able to apply their knowledge of Functions, Business Mathematics, and Logic in dealing with the intricacies of mathematical and scientific
concepts in higher education, entrepreneurial demands, middle-level skills development and employment through utilizing appropriate mathematical and financial
tools.
Power Standard: The learners are able to address the issues in a given context using the concepts of functions, business mathematics and logic.

Performance Task: The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) is conducting a competition among the members of your community. This competition involves the showcase of innovations,
strategies and procedures which can help solve the present issues of the community. Moreover, the solutions to the issues must involve the applications of functions, business
mathematics, and logic.

With this, the students will assume the role of researchers and/or data analysts to determine a real-life problem that persists in their community and present a solution to
this problem using the aforementioned mathematical concepts. The students are expected to document, create, and pitch a presentation of their problem-solving process
which will be submitted to the community leaders, residents, and DOST for evaluation.

The students are to create a proposal/product that aims to solve their chosen community issue. This proposal/product shall be presented to a panel for evaluation.

The project proposal will be evaluated according to the following criteria: content and accuracy (45%), presentation and organization (30%), creativity (15%) and cooperation
(10%).

The winners will be awarded as the Science and Technology Heroes of the Year.

Literal Transfer: Provide possible solutions to findings on issues in a given context using the concepts of function, business mathematics and logic
