1.0 OBJECTIVE
The objective of this method statement is to carry out the earthworks for PROPOSED
CONSTRUCTION AND COMPLETION OF EARTHWORKS AND OTHER RELATED WORKS
FOR DEVELOPMENT OF PHASE 2 (R11), AT BANDAR BUKIT RAJA 2, MUKIM KAPAR,
DISTRICT OF KLANG, SELANGOR DARUL EHSAN FOR MESSR. SIME DARBY USJ
DEVELOPMENT SDN. BHD.

2.0 SCOPE
The scope of this method statement applies for earthworks at Bukit Raja R11 project.

7.0 HANDLING AND STORAGE OF MATERIALS

Handling : Handling of all cuts/fills materials using excavator and dump truck.
Storage : All suitable material to be used on site shall be stored at designated area.

9.0 PREPARATORY WORKS

Site clearance – to cut down and transport out the oil palm tree from site.
Install all the soil instrument before start the earthworks.

10.0 WORK METHODOLOGY

10.1 Identify and ascertain that the areas to carry out the earthworks are as per drawings.
10.2 Conduct survey set-out as per method statement.
10.3 To remove the stump and root of oil palm tree.
10.4 Carry out clearing, grubbing and removing 150mm thick of top soil.
10.5 Inspect suitability of soil after removing top soil by visual inspection or trial pits as required.
10.6 Carry out the site investigation test directed by client/consultant on designated areas as
determine by client/consultant.
10.7 Identify the extent of excavation of the unsuitable materials and remove or treat the material in
accordance with site instructions issued by client/consultant or as per drawings.
10.8 Carry out applicable Testing Methods as required on suitable common earth and subgrade
material.
10.9 Conduct cut or fill operations to lines, grades and levels as determined in the drawings.
10.10 Backfill and compact suitable common earth material in layers for the construction or
embankment formation.
10.11 Carry out Field Density Test on the common earth layer placed as required.
10.12 Backfill and compact in 300 mm layers or specified in the specifications to platform level or
subgrade level.
10.13 Trim the slopes of embankment according to lines, grade and levels shown on drawings.
10.14 Backfill excavation unsuitable material sections with suitable material or other approved
materials and compact as appropriate.
