Ayodhya Shodh Sansthan Investigates 4,000 Year Old Mural In Iraq Believed To Depict Lord Ram And Hanuman

The Ayodhya Shodh Sansthan headed by Indian ambassador to Iraq Pradeep Singh Rajpurohit undertook an
expedition in Iraq this month (June 2019) to look at a mural from circa 2000 BCE that is believed to believed to
represent an image of Lord Ram, reports TOI.
The mural is engraved into the Darband-i-Belula cliff, overlooking a narrow pass in Iraq’s Horen Shekhan area;
it depicts a bare-chested king holding a bow, a quiver of arrows at his side and a dagger or short sword in his
belt. A monkey-like figure can be seen supplicating before the King.
The director of the Ayodhya Shodh Sansthan, Yogendra Pratap Singh, thinks that the mural is a depiction of Lord
Ram and Hanuman.....
The Ayodhya Shodh Sansthan is a research body under the Uttar Pradesh (UP) department of culture. Indian
diplomats at the Erbil Consulate, Chandramouli Karn, along with historians from the University of Sulaimania
and the Iraqi governor of Kurdistan also joined the expedition.
The director said, “There is anecdotal evidence on imprints of Ram in Belula pass, but this delegation collected
graphical proof to undertake a detailed study to establish a link between the Indian and Mesopotamian cultures.”

EDITORIAL... ✍ Devotion to Almighty to solve Water crisis!
More than 21 Indian Cities are at the verge of acute water shortage.If we take the example
of Chennai, it is said that there were over 1000 temple tanks and ponds out of which hardly a 100
tanks are surviving. These tanks were connected to flowing rivers, storm water flow mechanisms
and other water resources for which the channels were laid by the erstwhile devout and selfless
kings who wanted peoples welfare. All of them have been mostly blocked by real estate activities.
A similar situation in Bangalore which had over 400 lakes which got reduced to one hundred. We
can also take the example of Kumbhakonam where many temple and other tanks are constructed
dependent on overflow water of Ponni and Cauvery which are flowing inparallel and are at different
elevations. Because of closing of the channels the temple tanks and other ponds have dried up or
are having lower than normal feeding. Added to this our civilisations civic sense has completely
disappeared and people have been letting untreated sewage water into the rivers, lakes and ponds.
We have become so uncivilized that all current drinking water sources are polluted with sewage
water. E.g. beautiful lakes in and around Hyderabad such as Osman sagar lake is getting polluted
with untreated sewage water from 80 surrounding villages according to a recent report. The history
of Hussain sagar is well known. Under these circumstances it is heartening to note that some
efforts to rejuvenate Parutt pattu lake near Chennai have become successful. This should be repeated
in all places.
Kaleshwaram Project is a great effort with the participation of the neighbouring states, we
need much more such efforts...

But now it seems the current Government has woken up to the reality that we need to
pray to Almighty to get water and they have started this noble act. They have organized Varunajapam
at various parts Chennai and Tamil Nadu in a Marathon way on June 22, 2019. When every one
else were agitated the ruling party members were busy praying in temples along with priests for

Chilkur and every year we do Varunajapam to please Lord Balaji. Come lets all pray to the almighty
for Rains and restoration of water bodies. Lets dedicate the restoration work to the Lord.
We believe the Jal Shakti Mantralaya will take cognizance of this opportunity and implement
water bodies restoration on war footing with continuous prayers to Lord Balaji!
