ABSTRACT

THE RELATIONS BETWEEN STUDENTS PERCEPTION ABOUT PROBLEM-


BASED LEARNING (PBL) WITH LEARNING MOTIVATION AT FACULTY OF
MEDICINE UNIVERSITY OF LAMPUNG

Background: Perception is a process of acceptance by sensory stimuli for their attention so


that the individual is able to determine, interpret and appreciate an event. Students'
perceptions of problem-based learning (PBL) will affect the effectiveness of student learning
behavior, which is one indicator of motivation learning. The good perception that the students
have about PBL learning process allegedly has a relationship with the high motivation of
student learning.
Methods: This study was a descriptive analytic research using observational method with
cross sectional approach. The study uses’ two research instruments were questionnaires about
the students' perceptions of PBL learning process and learning motivation questionnaire,
which will be analyzed using chi square test.
Results: The results showed that 40.1% had high motivation score, 33.9% of students’ had
moderate score, and 27.1% had lower score. Fifty one point eight percent had good
perception, 33.7% of student had moderate perception score, and 14.5% had bad perception
score. There was significant relationship between students' perceptions of PBL learning
process and motivation to learn (p value 0.01).
Conclusion: There was a significant relationship between students' perceptions of PBL
learning process and student learning motivation Faculty of Medicine University of Lampung.

HUBUNGAN ANTARA PERSEPSI MAHASISWA TENTANG PROSES PROBLEM-


BASED LEARNING (PBL) TERHADAP MOTIVASI BELAJAR PADA MAHASISWA
FAKULTAS KEDOKTERAN UNIVERSITAS LAMPUNG

Latar belakang: Persepsi adalah suatu proses penerimaan rangsang oleh panca indera
karena adanya perhatian sehingga individu mampu mengetahui, mengartikan dan menghayati
suatu kejadian. Persepsi mahasiswa terhadap problem-based learning (PBL) akan
berpengaruh terhadap keefektifan perilaku belajar mahasiswa, yang merupakan salah satu
indikator motivasi belajar. Persepsi baik yang dimiliki mahasiswa tentang proses
pembelajaran PBL diduga memiliki hubungan dengan tingginya motivasi belajar mahasiswa.
Metode penelitian: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif analitik dengan
menggunakan metode observasional dengan pendekatan potong melintang. Penelitian ini
menggunakan 2 instrumen penelitian yaitu kuesioner persepsi mahasiswa tentang proses
pembelajaran PBL dan kuesioner motivasi belajar, yang di analisis menggunakan uji chi
square.
Hasil Penelitian: Hasil menunjukan skor motivasi tinggi 40,1%, sedang 33,9%, rendah 27,1
%. Skor persepsi baik 51,8%, sedang 33,7%, dan persepsi buruk 14,5% dan hasil analisis
bivariat terdapat hubungan bermakna antara persepsi mahasiswa tentang proses pembelajaran
PBL terhadap motivasi belajar ( p value 0,01).
Simpulan: Terdapat hubungan bermakna antara persepsi mahasiswa tentang proses
pembelajaran PBL dan motivasi belajar mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas
Lampung.
