INTRODUCTION

• General :
– Feeding chemicals or medicines in small quantities
into a process fluid.
– In a power station treatment chemicals are
injected or fed to boiler and also to feed and
make up water under pressure, but in small
dosages or rate of injection. The feeding at all
places is done by means of small capacity
dosing pumps specially designed for the duty
demanded

basically a Skid Mounted Equipment consisting :

cover and Flat/dished Bottom
 MOC : MSRL (Rubber Lined) / Suitable SS
 Nozzles for Level gauge, Level Switch or

Metering / Dosing Pumps are basically
positive displacement pumps with stroke
adjustment feature for setting of the
desired flow rate in the range of its
capacity.
Designed for accuracy of discharge
without variation in running condition.

SELECTION OF A PUMP

Model of Pump is selected by following Inputs :


1) Desired Flow rate in LPH
2) Desired Pressure at discharge (Injection)
3) Type of the Pump (Plunger/Diaphragm)
4) Type of Stroke control (Manual/Actuator)
5) Chemical to be handled (For MOC of Liquid End)
AGITATOR / MIXER
 Dosing system can be supplied with
Motorised or Manual Agitator.

 Motorised agitator can be manufactured


by us or can be bought out from
manufacturer that is approved by
customer.
MOTORS
 Drive Motor : Drive motor rating is
generally suggested by Pump
manufacturer. Reputed and approved
makes of motors are used for pumps in
line with site condition requirements.
 Agitator Motor : Generally flange
mounting motors of reputed make are
used for agitators.
STRAINER & VALVES
 Strainer : Used at pump suction for
safeguarding pump from unwanted material
 Ball/Gate/ Globe valves : Reputed/Approved
make ball valves in piping are used as per P&I
diagram. Rating & MOC is decided according
to the pressure.
 Check Valve : These are non return valves
used at discharge side to avoid reverse flow.
Generally in dosing systems Lift check valves
are used for this.
STRAINER & VALVES
Pressure Relief Valve
 It is supplied with pump separately for
mounting on piping.

 It can be set at desired pressure in the


range of capacity as per injection pressure
requirement. It also safeguards pump from
running on higher pressure than pump
design.
PULSATION DAMPENER
 A Pulsation Dampener is an accumulator
that absorbs & minimizes pulsations
created by pump and give linear flow
output.
 Volume bottle type pulsation
dampeners are
manufactured by us in house.
PIPING
 Fluid from tank to components to
terminal points is conveyed through
piping.
 Size and schedule (Thickness) is designed
according to flow and pressure.
 MOC of the piping is decided according
to chemical compatibility of fluid.

LOCAL CONTROL PANEL
 It is designed as per system requirements
of power supply and signal exchange
between the instruments.
 In case of pump with actuator the
controller is also part of the panel which
received input from process and signals to
the pump for stroke adjustment.
