Edgar Calabia Samar is a multi-awarded poet and novelist from the Philippines. Samar
was born on 18 February 1981 in San Pablo City, Philippines. He is 32 years old. He attended a
diocesan catholic school, the Liceo de San Pablo, from grade school to high school (1988–1998).
Samar also teaches Philippine literature and creative writing at the Ateneo de Manila University.
He has presented his papers abroad, and his essays has been published in refereed journals such
as Loyola Schools Review, Diliman Review and Malay. His latest book is a young adult novel
from Adarna House, Janus Silang.
