• 18+1 in 9MM
In 1988, Para-Ordnance took the shooting world by storm with the first significant improvement on the basic Model 1911
design in 77 years. More than simply a high-capacity frame and magazine, the Para pistol design incorporated a dozen
enhancements to create a stronger, more accurate and more reliable handgun.

Through superior technology the Para Hi-Cap was not only created with a unique and novel frame; that doubled the capacity
of the standard 1911, but also improved on one of the weak points of the original design, the plunger tube. On the original
1911 pistol the plunger tube is staked onto the frame and can come loose. In the Para High Capacity pistol the housing
for the slide stop plunger, slide lock plunger and the plunger spring is an integral and inseparable part of the frame.
