This research aimed at developing English learning material for the second
semester students of economy faculty of Panji sakti University. This research was
a Research and Development (R & D) study. The type of the research was 4D
model proposed by Thagarajan, Dorothy S. Semmel. The steps of this study were:
(1)Define,(2) Design, (3)Develop, and (3)Disseminate.

In the “Define” step, There were two questionnaires employed in the

research: (1) needs analysis questionnaire (2) expert judgment questionnaire. The
needs analysis questionnaire was distributed to the students to identify the target
needs and the learning needs of the students. The expert judgment questionnaire
was used to evaluate the material. The data from the needs analysis questionnaire
were analyzed using frequency and percentage and the results were then used as
the basis to design and develop the materials, while the data from the expert
judgment questionnaire were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The materials
needed are the English materials which covered of all aspect of English such as
four-skills of English, grammar and vocabulary. The topic of the materials is
related to communication in daily activity and in the workplace. The activity of
the materials is in the form of dialogues, short text related with the economy, and
writing the application letter. In addition, there are some explanations about
English expressions and also grammar. Based on the findings from the materials
evaluation, the content, the language, the presentation, and the layout of the
materials are appropriate. The mean score of all aspects of the developed
materials was 4.18. This indicates that the developed material is categorized as
excellence material. in the process of disseminate, the product converted into e-
learning which give the opportunity for the students using the instructional
materials by using the Smartphone.

mata kuliah bahasa inggris umum II untuk mahasiswa semester 2 fakultas

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan materi pelajaran bahasa

inggris untuk mahasiswa semester 2 fakultas ekonomi universitas panji sakti
singaraja. Jenis penelitian ini adalah model penelitian dan pengembangan atau
yang disebut dengan RnD model dengan menggunakan 4D model olej Dorothy S
Semmel. Langkah langkah untuk 4D model yaitu: Define, Design, Develop dan
Desseminate.
Pada tahap Define, penulis menggunakan dua kuisionaire untuk
mendapatkan data. Kuisionaire digunakan pada tahap analisis kebutuhan dan
experts judgment. Kuisionaire kebutuhan digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi
kebutuhan siswa dan juga kebutuhan target sedangkan kuisionaire dari expert
judgement digunakan untuk mengevaluasi dari produk yang dikembangkan. Data
yang diperoleh dari kuisionaire kebutuhan siswa dianalisis menggunakan
frekuensi dan juga presentase. Hasil analisis alam digunakan sebagai dasar untuk
mendesain dan mengembangkan materi. Sedangkan hasil yang diperoleh dari
expert judgement dianalisis menggunakan descriptive analysis.materi yang
dikembangkan berupa materi bahasa inggris umum yang berisikan semua aspect
dalam bahasa inggris seperti empat skill bahasa inggris, grammar dan juga
vocabullary. Berdasarkan hasil dari evaluasi materi, content, bahasa yang
digunakan, rancangan dari material sudah sesuai dengan kebutuhan dan juga
criteria. Rata rata nilai untuk semua aspek dari materi yang dikembangkan adalah
4.18. ini menunjukan bahwa materi dikategorikan sebagai materi yang sangat
baik. Dalam proses penyebaran, produk yang dikembangkan disebarkan dalam
bentuk e-learning sehingga siswa dapat mempelajari materi menggunakan
smartphone.
