Initial position
In the initialposition, the pistonassumesthe retractedend position. The
volumeof air insidethe cylinder(1A) is evacuatedvia the 3/2-waypush
buttonvalve(1S).
Step 1-2
By actuatingthe 3/2-wayvalve (1S),the chamberon the piston rod side
of cylinder(1A) is pressurisedvia the one-way flow controlvalve (1V).
The single-acting cylinderadvancesto its forward end position. The du-
ration of the forward motion is set by means of the one-way flow control
valve (stopwatch). The flow controlsettingcan be securedby means of
the lock nut. The pressuregauge (1Zl) indicatesthe operatingpressure
during the forward motion and when the cylinder comes to rest in the
advanced position. On the other hand, gauge (122) shows pressure
build-upduring the advance. Furthermore, after completionof the for-
ward motion, the pressurecontinuesto rise until the operatingpressure
has been reached.lf the push button valve (1S) continuesto be actu-
ated,the cylinderremainsin the fonryardend position.
Step 2-3
After releasingthe valve actuator (1S), the air in the cylinder is ex-
haustedvia the one-wayflew controlvalve (1V) and the 3/2-wayvalve
(1S).The cylinderreturnsto the retractedend position.'
Marginalcondition
lf the pushbuttonof the 312-way valve(1S)is brieflypressed, the cylin-
deradvances onlypart of the way and returnsimmediately.
