The halfway point of the year is here, and for some the middle of the
year is when focus wanders and motivation falters.
The Market America | SHOP.COM 2019 World Conference in February
rekindled your passion for the UnFranchise Business, and you set out
to succeed. But the spark that was lit then may have started to dim.
How do we keep that spark shining brightly all the way to the Market
America | SHOP.COM 2019 International Convention in August?
First of all, don’t stop and don’t take detours! World Conference and
International Convention are just the stepping stones to propel you and
your business toward your goals. Just like my demonstration about geese
at #MAWC2019, you must stay in formation to reach your destination.
Now is not the time to take a break and slow down. We have all of the
resources you need to get you to where you want to be; all you have
to do is use them. Are you just starting your business and struggling
to get it off of the ground, or are you having trouble meeting new
people and starting a conversation about the business? During this
time of the year, the best way to begin propelling your business
forward and keeping yourself on track is to practice the fundamentals
outlined in the Basic 5: Developing Attitude and Knowledge, Goals
and a Goal Statement, Retailing, Prospecting/Recruiting Qualifying/
Sponsoring, Follow-Up and the ABCs of Building Depth.
You’ve heard me say it before — the Basic 5 helps you get started,
but it’s not something you do once at the beginning and then never
again. You must develop and maintain the attitude and knowledge
for the business because without it, you won’t be able to effectively
communicate the business to potential customers. Listen to audios
daily. Schedule a weekly call with your senior business partner.
Participate in conference calls, webinars and corings. Associate with
positive, successful people. These are the people who are going to
help you make connections, and when you surround yourself with
success, you will be much more likely to be successful. Finally, the
most important decision is to make sure you have tickets to events
like #MAIC2019. These events not only give you knowledge on new,
upcoming products, but they leave you feeling motivated, empowered
and confident that you will one day be up there with the other Directors,
Master UnFranchise Owners and Shopping Annuity Master Members.
You can’t move forward without goals, so make a goal statement.
Make sure it stays up-to-date. Define your dreams and your purpose

and turn them into a plan of action. If you’re not doing anything,
then you will fail. What do you want and when do you want it? If
you want more time and more flexibility with your funds, set target
dates to achieve realistic results until you reach your financial goals
and are in control of how you use your time. Measure your progress
and remember that success doesn’t come without sacrifice. Narrow
down the things in life that are truly important to you and remove
those things you can live without. Once you reach your goals, you
can add those things back into your life, but for now, your business
should be first and foremost.
After planning your goals, focus on how to build your business
through retailing. What does retailing do for you? It creates profit,
generates ongoing Business Volume, identifies potential business
prospects and builds belief. However, the most important thing to
remember is that your UnFranchise Business is built on communication
and forming relationships. Tell your story and listen to your
customers’ stories because stories sell products and create lifelong
relationships. Relationship marketing is based in listening, sharing
and recommending, so listen to identify your customers’ needs, share
your own story of Market America’s impact on your life, and then

Duplicating your efforts and leveraging your time are key for the next
part of the Basic 5: prospecting, recruiting qualifying and sponsoring.
Create a list of names from friends, family, old classmates and people
on social media to start building a potential customer base. Perhaps it’s
been a while since you updated your names list — who can you add?
Prioritize those who will bring other people to you and build relationships

with them by focusing on your “why” so you can show how the business
can be appealing to them, with a personal story they can relate to.
This leads into following up. You’re building relationships, so don’t leave
potential partners out to dry if they reject you in the beginning. Follow
up with them on social media or call them so they can see your sincerity.
The ABC Pattern is what makes those connections. Have a one-on-one
meeting with a prospect, invite them to a Home Business Presentation
(HBP) and once they are comfortable with you and understand the
business, open the door to an UnFranchise Business Presentation
(UBP). Through this pattern you are building credibility and trust and
from that, they can begin to believe in the UnFranchise Business.
Forming connections and being genuinely interested in people is
how this business works. As we quickly approach #MAIC2019, carry

who attended our sold-out 2019 Southeast Asia Convention in
Kuala Lumpur. A large number of UnFranchise Owners (UFOs) and

Annual Convention

On 5–7 April, Over 7,000 UnFranchise™ Owners (UFOs) from Malaysia

and Singapore came to the 2019 Southeast Asia Convention at the
Malaysia International Trade & Exhibition Centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The whole weekend was filled with fulfilling experiences. UFOs had
the opportunity to learn from field speakers like the Market Malaysia
Leadership Council, as well as guest speakers from Hong Kong,
Singapore, Taiwan and the United States.

Market America Vice President of Sales Jim Winkler, shared with us what
sets the Shopping Annuity™ apart from the rest of the competition.
He spoke about the challenges you can face when you first start your
business and how you have to do something every single day. Market
America International Field Chairman Joanne Hsi, then shared her
team building experience and the importance of teamwork, while
Executive Field Vice President Johnny Huang, discussed the process
of prospecting, recruiting and sponsoring as well as the importance
of coring sessions.

The United Nations has proclaimed 1 June as the Global Day of
Parents. According to the United Nations online database, Global
Day of Parents was started "to appreciate all parents in all parts of
the world for their selfless commitment to children and their lifelong
sacrifice towards nurturing this relationship".
