Lesson 1: Knowing Oneself


I. OBJECTIVES
A. The learners explain that knowing oneself can make a person accept his/her strengths
and limitations and dealing with others better
B. The learner shares his/her unique characteristics, habits, and experience
C. The learners maintain a journal.
II. SUBJECT MATTER
Topic: Knowing Oneself or Self- awareness
Reference: De Guzman, Jens Micah, et. al, PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT pg. 1-6
Materials: book, board, chalk, pen and paper, notebook, color paper/crayons
III. EXPLORE
ACTIVITY 1
Each student will pick a crayon or color. Each color will symbolize what to share in the
class.

IV. FIRM UP
ACTIVITY 2
Four Corners
Each student will draw a table with four boxes on a bond paper. In the first box, s/he will
draw a thing related to his/her interest. On the second box, they will draw something which is
related to their talent. While the third box is about their ultimate idol and the last one is
something related to their dream. They are not going to indicate their name on it. Then, each
work will be shown to the class by the teacher. The class will guess who owns or made the
four corner drawing.

2. Why is self-awareness important?
3. What does Erik Erikson saying “, the more you know yourself, the more patience
you have from what you see in others” mean?
4. How can you help to have some better self-awareness and to benefit from this
concept?

adolescents for personal development. You want to make a video/vlog about your
