In some countries, people are having children at later age in life.

What are
the reasons? Do the advantage outweigh disadvantages?

It is true that in recent years parents tend to give birth to their first child later than that
in the past. I believe that this phenomenon is mainly caused by the competitions and
that it is a negative trend overall.

There are several possible reasons which can explain this late child bearing. Firstly,
modern people are spending an enormous amount of time in study, as academic
qualifications are essential for seeking decent jobs these days. Consequently, it would
be impossible for young adults to have babies during the stage of attending schools.
Secondly, it is widely accepted that rearing a child requires a great fortune.
Youngsters tend to spend years, or even decades to accumulate a considerable
amount of money to purchase an apartment and a fund which covers the educational
expense before they are finally determined to have children. The last possible reason
may be that young people are unwilling to be tied by little kids because they are used
to the indulgent and free lifestyle.

In my opinion, the benefits of late pregnancy are outweighed by its drawbacks. From
the personal perspective, delivering a baby in late adulthood could be risky for the
mother as well as the baby. The possibility of abnormal fetus, for instance, can
significantly increase with maternal age. On the societal level, this trend is recognized
as the main culprit of population ageing in most developed countries. The shrinking
amount of citizens may cause serial problems, including short-staffed companies,
economic recession and possibly crimes caused by immigrants.

To conclude, while I understand the reasons why prospective mothers choose to

conceive in their later adulthood, I believe it is not worthwhile to do so because of the
potential risks for both parents and society.
People have different views about which period is the happiest during our life.
While I understand some strong arguments why some people think adolescence is
of most joy, I believe adulthood is the most fulfilling and therefore the best
stage in our lifetime.

There seems to be a range of reasons to support the idea that teenage years are
the happiest. Firstly, youngsters have less pressure as they only need to concern
about their study, unlike adults who are constantly anxious about bills, mortgage,
and expenditure on children. Secondly, adolescents can always seek help, support
and console from their caring and loving parents. Finally, the most fascinating
aspect of puberty is its infinite possibilities, in the sense that teenagers
could fight for their future and have the power to change. For example, one
adolescent, no matter how poor or murky background they are in, can attain fame
and wealth if they apply themselves in school.

However, I would assert that adulthood is most attractive because of a sense

of fulfillment and long-term relationships. From a personal perspective, an
grown-up people has already accumulated a considerable amount of money and wide
social ties, meaning that they could do almost anything without restriction.
For instance, they are free to travel to any place they like or start a business
according to their interest or innovative ideas. From the societal level, an
adult can reap true love and romance from their marriage and also derive joy
from every moments spending with their old friends.

To conclude, although adolescence seems to be appealing to many people, I am

still in favor of adulthood because there are so much more we could do when we
come of age.
Dear sir or madam,

I am writing to express my interest to provide my voluntary service to the

patients in St. Lawrence Hospital.

The reason why I would like to participate in the work advertised by your hospital
is that my grandfather benefited from a volunteer last year and I would like
to repay your kindness. My grandfather was hospitalized due to cardiovascular
diseases and back then no family member had the time to take care of him.
Fortunately, one unpaid worker was willing to undertake the job and thanks to
his help, my grandfather recovered two month later.

I am a licensed psychiatrist working in the city center of Paris. Therefore I

believe I could provide some advice to help with patients' mental health.
Moreover, I have also majored in the subject of Sports Injury, so I am happy
to work in the short-staffed department of injury rehabilitation.

I am available every workday after 3PM since one of my colleague will take the
late shift for me. However, during summer vacation, I need to send and pick my
daughter on Thursday and Friday late in the afternoon, I am afraid I can not
make it in the afternoon of Thursday and Friday .

I hope that my expertise would be useful to you and that you will consider me
as a candidate.

Yours faithfully
Matt White
