GROUND FLOOR BEAM AND SLAB REINFORCEMENT –SITE INSPECTION REPORT

1. Slab reinforcement provided at site is not as per drawing.

2. Chairs are provided for top reinforcement in slabs next to beams.
3. Slab cover not provided as recommended.
4. Spacer bars in beams are not provided and in the provided location spacer bars are not
tied.

5. Tower-c ground floor GA location section-3 and section level difference is excess by
20mm and 10mm.
6. Beam cover in b139 is provided as 35mm.
7. B41 cover is excess by 40mm.
8. Slab next to B41 top reinforcement is not shown.
9. Beam reinforcement laps are provided for higher dia where as it should be provided for
lesser dia.
10. B411 stirrups are touching the shuttering as cover block is not provided.

11. Around balcony dowels for rc upstand are provided. In the provided locations
reinforcement is not tied

13. WC58 reinforcement which terminates is been cut where as it should be bent in to slab
as shown in above comments no 12.

14. WC1 where the column thickness changes one face column reinforcement stops and
one more layer should be started and it should have ‘ld’ in to column but the average
beam depth is insufficient for ‘ld’. Dowels are not left for the same.
15. Gaps between slab shuttering were found in many locations.
16.

Support for beam side shuttering is not provided. Same should be provided as shown
above.
17. Surface of shuttering is full of mud and dust .
18. Beam column junctions gaps are not closed. Same should be closed with threads.
 19. Slab reinforcement dimensions of the steel are not provided as given in the drawing.
Steel provided is more than given in drawing.
20. B379 spacing of the main reinforcement is not uniform.

21. B405 – 7t25 top second layer reinforcement not provided.

22. B405 stirrup spacing as per drawing is t16@100 same is provided as t16@25 in some
locations.
23. B230, B231 lap length provided is lesser than required.
24. No clarity on the construction joint. Approved construction joint is not being followed.

CLOSING COMMENTS:-
1. Considering the above observations concreting should not be carried out without correcting and
checking the entire area planned for concrete.
2. Project manager should check the whole reinforcement in line with the observations and
drawings provided before carrying out the concreting.
