1 Installation/Update
1.1 System requirements
The system requirements of agileMantis are essentially covered by those of
MantisBT.

In the current version agileMantis can only be used in connection with a MySQL-
Database server with version 5.2 or newer. Also it can be used with a MS SQL-
Database with version 10.50.1600 or newer. Other databases will be supported in a
later version.

Furthermore we recommend to use PHP 5.3.8 and one of the MantisBT-Versions

1.2.x. If MantisBT is not installed, install it first from
https://sourceforge.net/projects/mantisbt/files/mantis-stable/

1.2 Installation
Please read our release information in the agileMantis blog. They include important
information on new features and special instructions for version updates:

1. Download agileMantis from our Sourceforge project page

http://sourceforge.net/projects/agilemantis/.
By clicking the download button there you get the newest version. Keep care
to remember the destination directory of the download soon.

2. Unzip agileMantis files in the download-folder. The unzipped agileMantis

folder appears.
3. Log into your MantisBT Installation as an administrator.
4. Click Manage. Here you can see the Plugin path of your MantisBT
installation. In the example of the figure below that is
C:\xampp\\htdocs\mantisbt-1.2.19\plugins\.

5. If necessary open your FTP File Transfer Tool.

6. Copy the downloaded and unzipped agileMantis folder from your local path to
the MantisBT plugin folder as explained under (4.).
7. In MantisBT, click Manage → [Manage Plugins].
If the agileMantis folder was copied to the correct destination in (8), you see
the agileMantis line.
8. Click [Install] at right of the agileMantis line under „Actions“.
If the error message „Upgrading the plugin schema failed in block #0“ shows
up, this is most likely an database right issue.
Please ensure, that the database user configured for MantisBT has the rights
to create tables.

The labels of the custom fields required by agileMantis are not localized by standard.
It is mandatory to create or extend the file “custom_strings_inc.php” in the MantisBT
installation folder in order to translate these labels into various languages.

After finishing the installation of agileMantis a menu item “agileMantis” appears in the
MantisBT menu bar. Select this menu item and then click on the menu item “Manage
Settings” in the submenu. Now click the button “Localization of agileMantis custom
fields” in the subarea “(De-)Activate Useful Additional Information”. A dialog
containing the required source code for the file “custom_strings_inc.php” appears.
Please copy and paste the source code into this file.

agileMantis is ready for use now.
