10 children from above 15-16 years old (8th class level-middle school, or first year
of high school) from Denmark and 10 children of the same age from another
country of the European Union. Romania??
5. Motivation
We had chosen this topic because we think that we live in a multicultural Union,
where people must tolerate the others cultural differences. Students must learn
to be tolerant from an early age and to fight racism.
6. Goals
7. Time-plan
• 1 preparatory week at home when each class will discuss about the other
country, about cultural differences and tolerance.
• 1 week in the middle of the new country. Discovering a new culture and
involving in local life.

will communicate in the preparatory week, by mail and phone in order
to prepare the common activities from the 2 weeks together.
• Partners:
- The 2 directors from the 2 schools who will give an amount for the didactic
materials.
- Each student family who will have to provide food and accommodation for the
foreigner student.

Discovering a new culture and a new life style by the help of one exchanging
week into a different country. An week trip living to a foreigner family and
involving into local social life.
Students will have common activities during the 2 weeks together in order to
discover the other’s country and culture. (local games, typical literature,

There will also be some common debates about tolerance and cultural

11.Evaluation – at the end of this activity each class comes back to his own home
school and talk about the exchange programme.
• An evaluation will be made for students in order to see what they had
learned, what is culture? How to deal with cultural differences? How to be
tolerant but not to give up at your own culture?
• An evaluation point will be made for the teachers too in order to see if this
kind of exchange activity helps students to be aware of the cultural
awareness capacity? Does it instigate the cultural curiosity? Does it help
for developing tolerance capacity and fight racism? What was good? What
could be better?
