Climate change: What it is, causes, consequences and solutions

Climate change has taken place from billions of years, as a result of many causes
generated by human activity; but also for those interventions where the internal as
well as the external energy in the main altered one. The climate on the planet is not
characterized by being static; but although it is true that the variations that have
occurred since its existence have marked special periods that are defined between
one era and another; some standing out more than others. What is climate
change? It is all global variation pertaining to the climate of the planet. It occurs for
different reasons; among them natural, by action of the human being and by
energetic factors. They usually occur at certain time scales that are difficult to
measure; but they are linked to different parameters of the entire environment.
These parameters are: • Temperature • Precipitation • Cloudiness It is the climatic
changes the greenhouse effect acts, knowing that without it life would not be
compatible on the planet, since the whole environment would be excessively cold.
Within the gases accumulated by pollution, this effect is found in nitrous oxide;
carbon dioxide and methane, gases that emanate from human activities such as
industry, fossil fuels and also agriculture.

What are the causes of climate change?

It is known that in all the perspectives that one looks at; the temperatures found on this
planet are suitable and compatible with the life of all living beings that live in this
environment. This is implied because the solar radiations that reach the main layer of the
earth are reflected in the space; becoming largely absorbed by nature.

On this side, the Earth absorbs a large amount of lightning is a hot planet and remains at a
final temperature of + 15 ° and not -19 ° C.
But for the emanation of gases the influence of the human population is necessary and
therefore; the action of human beings in climate changes is evident.

It has been described that human influence is the fundamental cause of climate change
since the 20th century; that is where they have seen more variations in them with different
effects, causing changes in the entire climate system.

What are the consequences of climate change?

Climate change, since the existence of the land has not only allowed to modify the
conditions of nature, but it is also making changes in the economy; in health and in all
populations in one way or another.

However, it has been scientifically determined that climate change is reaching its limit and
not putting a final brake on these aspects in this, which is the right time; The consequences
that can be established are devastating and the results are guaranteed to end completely in
disasters.
The proven consequences identified with climate change are:

• The water expands when you perceive the intense heat; since it is the oceans that absorb
more heat than the mainland. In this way, sea level increases.
• Thanks to the melting of glaciers and sea ice as a result of excessive heat; Sea level is also
increased from this perspective.
• As a consequence of sea level rise, flooding of all surrounding populations occurs.

• Sites where it rains or snows under normal conditions, can become hot and dry
completely, as well as lakes and rivers.
• By reducing the rainfall areas, it causes deforestation and subsequent desertification of the
soil.
• Conditions of severe drought would be present, maintaining the risk of loss for crops.

What solutions can be exercised to reduce climate change?

The different suitable and indicated solutions to reduce the frequency between the changes
of the climate that the Earth is living are based on measures exerted directly by human
activity, in order to counteract the actions given directly by nature and by the energy factors
that are inevitable .
Therefore, education is the basis for improving the conditions and protection of the
environment, taking into account several optimal methods when it comes to reducing
climate change, which are:
Recycle
Recycling is the beginning to return to restoring the life of the planet, avoiding the
worsening of climate change. By recycling 1 kg of used aluminum cans, this consumes less
energy than their production.

Water
When you go to prepare a hot drink, boil only the water you are going to use, also give
preference to shower, not only to save the amount of water but you save energy that is used
when heating.

Artificial lights
When you are not at home or going to sleep, turn off the lights, it is estimated that homes
are responsible for around 30% of the electricity consumption that interferes with the
quality of the environment. In this way we will not only save electricity, but we will also
collaborate with the care of the planet.
Home appliances

Do not leave the appliances on StandBy, because usually 40% of the energy consumed by
some of them, such as televisions, do it this way; increasing energy consumption and
environmental degradation.
The same happens with the mobile chargers, if you leave them plugged in, a lot of the
electricity is lost and only 5% is used. Unplug it as soon as you finish using it.

Decreases the use of heating

When placing the heating in very high temperatures; the impact on climate change
intensifies due to the increase of heat that reaches the atmosphere. The ideal is to lower the
temperature 1 ° C more and thus be able to further reduce the energy bill and at the same
time help the life of the planet by reducing the likelihood of its consequences.

Alternatives to the car

Automobiles are identified as responsible for 10% of the carbon dioxide emitted into the
atmosphere, which is why it is a great idea that from time to time you turn to public
transportation; biking or walking, in order to contribute to the reduction of climate changes
and global warming.

Plant a tree
This is the fundamental and unforgettable rule of all those people who want to contribute to
the planet and ecological health. Find a large park where you know that your tree will be
safe and plant the seed. This is a very helpful strategy for the environment, given that 5
trees absorb up to 1 ton of carbon dioxide throughout their lives.
No to fossil fuels
Avoid fossil fuels as much as possible; in order to reduce the carbon dioxide coverage in
the atmosphere, which ends up returning to us in the form of acid rain. Instead of these,
alternatives to the use of oil, gas and coal can be used.
Ecological infrastructures
In the futuristic measures it is recommended to adapt the home infrastructures such as
houses and buildings to take advantage of the energy and not waste it. To this end, the
cement must be omitted in its construction in order to avoid the emission of gases that go
directly to the greenhouse effect, which is the cause and aggravating of global warming.

CLIMATIC CHANGES FOR ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTION The climatic

change,

induced by the activity of the human being, supposes that the average temperature of the
planet increased 0.6 degrees in the S.XX. The average temperature of the planet will rise
between 1.4 and 5.8 degrees between 1990 and 2100. In the same period, the average sea
level will increase between 0.09 and 0.88 meters. The increase of the 20th century has not
occurred in any of the last ten centuries. Climate change will accelerate the emergence of
infectious diseases, such as tropical diseases, which will find favorable conditions for their
expansion, even in areas of the North. The World Health Organization warned that local
changes in temperatures and rainfall are likely to create more favorable conditions for
insects that transmit infectious diseases, such as malaria or dengue.
The atmosphere acts as a thermal trap and this greenhouse effect increases with the
concentration of gases such as CO2. Human activity, deforestation and, above all, the
burning of fossil fuels increase the presence of this gas in the air. The atmospheric
concentration of CO2 has increased by 31% since 1750.
The cover of snow and ice has decreased by 10% since the end of the 60s. Likewise, there
is a reduction in glaciers throughout the 20th century. The surface temperature of the ocean
and the sea level have increased between 0.1 and 0.2 m. in the twentieth century (and that
will increase threatening to flood certain countries). There are also changes in the rainfall
regime, in the cloud cover and in the pattern of occurrence of phenomena such as the El
Niño warm current, which has become more frequent. Such an increase can lead to a higher
incidence of water-borne diseases, such as cholera, and those related to toxins, such as
shellfish poisoning.

The only way to stop climate change is to drastically reduce greenhouse gas emissions,
such as CO2. It is necessary to put pressure on governments and global companies,
basically, to reduce CO2 emissions.
