History
Meaning: named after the dance step haplic
Dance culture: Christian lowland
Place of origin: Iloilo and antique
Ethno linguistic group: kinaray-a and ilongo
Classification: social dance

Background / context:
This lively dance is popular in Iloilo and antique. It is named after the step haplik, which is used in figure III. This step is
found also in in some other dances.

Dance properties:
Costume:
Female: patadyong. Camisa and a soft pañuelo over the l shoulder.
Male: barong tagalog and white trousers.
Music: 2/4 composed of three parts: A, B and C.
Count : ONE, TWO: ONE , AND TWO, OR ONE, AND TWO, AND A MEASURE.
FORMATION: IN SETS OF TWO PAIRS. PARTNER STAND OPPOSITE EACH OTHER ABOUT SIX FEET APART. Boys and girls
stand alternately (see diagram below). One to any number of sets may take part in the dance.
