Hip hop

Hip hop or hip-hop is a subculture and art movement


developed in The Bronx in New York City during the late
1970s. The origins of the word are often disputed. Some
believe that the word was invented by Keith Cowboy of
The Furious Five

Ballet
an artistic dance form performed to music using precise
and highly formalized set steps and gestures. Classical
ballet, which originated in Renaissance Italy and
established its present form during the 19th century, is
characterized by light, graceful, fluid movements and the
use of pointe shoes.
Krumping
Krump is a street dance popularized in the United States,
characterized by free, expressive, exaggerated, and highly
energetic movement. The youths who started krumping
saw the dance as a way for them to escape gang life and
"to release anger, aggression and frustration positively, in
a non-violent way.
Jazz dance
Jazz dancing, and its steps and style, originated from the
dancing of African Americans that were brought to
America as slaves. Originally, the term jazz dance
encompassed any dance done to jazz music, including
both tap dance and jitterbug
Tango
Tango is a partner dance that originated in the 1880s
along the River Plate, the natural border between
Argentina and Uruguay, and soon spread to the rest of the

Tap dance
Tap dance is a form of dance characterized by using the
sounds of tap shoes striking the floor as a form of
percussion. Two major variations on tap dance exist:
rhythm tap and Broadway tap.
Ballroom dance
Ballroom dance is a set of partner dances, which are
enjoyed both socially and competitively around the world.
Because of its performance and entertainment aspects,
ballroom dance is also widely enjoyed on stage, film, and
television.
Lyrical Dance
Lyrical dance is a style of dance created by merging
ballet and jazz. The style is usually danced at a faster
pace than ballet but not as fast as jazz. Because of the
links between the styles of dance, teachers originally
struggled with whether to teach lyrical dance alongside
jazz or ballet or as its own, separate style

Tinikling is a traditional Philippine folk dance which
originated during the Spanish colonial era. The dance
involves two people beating, tapping, and sliding bamboo
poles on the ground and against each other in
coordination with one or more dancers who step over and
in between the poles in a dance.
