Offerings
Aimed at enabling SAP partners to meet today’s challenge of changing project environments
and to take advantage of new market opportunities, the SAP Partner Academy, continuously
expands its focus by providing solution-oriented partner education along the entire Customer
Engagement Life Cycle Model. To embrace this new solution-orientation, the SAP Partner
Academy has been renamed into “SAP Solution Academy”.

• Participants gain the detailed BW knowledge they need to be able to implement and
administer successfully a heterogeneous BW landscape.

Course Content
• Overview of the basic concepts and architecture of the SAP Business Information
Warehouse
• Hands-on experience of working with the SAP BW tools, focusing on BW data modeling
and ETL ( Extraction, Transformation, Loading of Data)
• Introduction to the functions of the BW Metadata Repository

• TABW10 is the first in a series of BW courses for SAP BW consultants which will enable

− Overview of the basic concepts and OLAP functions of BW reporting
− Introduction to the basic ideas behind the SAP BW Business Content
− Creating reports with the Query Builder of the Business Explorer Analyzer
− Introduction to special features of BW reporting, for example, exception reporting,
report-report interface, Web Reporting
− Introduction to the BEx Map tool for geographical visualization and analysis
• Introduction to professional advanced analysis in the SAP BW:
− Activating the BW Business Content through the Administrator Workbench
− Workbench Automated decision support using the BW Report Agent
− Agent Implementing cartographic navigation elements with the BEx Map
− Map Enhanced query navigation through the report-report interface
• Publishing queries in the Web using the SAP Business Explorer Web Publisher
− Overview of the basic concepts behind BW Web Reporting

• Knowledge of the programming languages C/C++ is required, knowledge of Visual Basic

Course Goals
• This course provides an overview of connecting complementary applications to R/3 using
SAP Business Interfaces.
• Developers and technical project leaders get an overview of the R/3 Basis Technology
and SAP‘s technologies for interoperability between R/3 and external applications.
• The overview of the R/3 Basis Technology includes the R/3 client/server architecture as
well as the use of the SAP Graphical User Interface ( SAPGUI).
• Interface programming starts with an overview of SAP‘s integration technologies,
followed by a discussion of the integration-related R/3 tools and integration-related
customizing options.
• The overview about SAP‘s Business Interfaces shows what business interfaces on the
application level are available along major business processes supported by a standard
R/3 system.
• To deepen the understanding of how to link external applications to R/3 example
programs for business interfaces are presented.
• Practical exercises including writing, compiling and running example programs are also
provided.
• Example programs and practical exercises are performed in a Windows-based
environment using C/C++ and Visual Basic.
• This class focuses on integration issues on the server level using SAP Integration
Technologies and SAP Business Interfaces.
• Desktop integration issues are not covered.
• Using business interfaces for Internet integration is mentioned briefly and covered in
detail by a different class.
• Information about SAP‘s Complementary Software Program shows a wide range of
partnership possibilities to benefit from business, sales and marketing support of their
interface to SAP.
• Integration &Certification Services are presented to explain what technical support is
provided for software partners as part of the Complementary Software Program.
