Objectives:
– Describe how to activate partition to go to SMS mode
• SMS mode is used for installing AIX and Linux
– Describe how to setup SMS menu’s for network NIM install
– Install the VIO server LPAR from NIM

• Select language for install
• Select disks to be used for install

If you had not specified to boot to SMS, you would need to wait for this
screen to pop up and then hit “1” repeatedly as the bottom line is displaying
This only appears for a couple of seconds, so it is very easy to miss it
It is much more convenient to use the SMS override from the advanced
activation menu
