LEGACY SYSTEM MIGRATION WORKBENCH (LSMW)


Go to the command line and enter transaction code LSMW
Enter Project, Subproject and Object that you wish to create. Project, Subprojec
t and Object may have different title depending on your requirement.
Click on  to enter the descriptions.
 EMBED PBrush Type the description of the Project.

Click on  to proceed with the next step.
Enter the description of Subproject.
 EMBED PBrush 
Click on  to proceed with the next step.Enter the description of Object.
Click on  to proceed with the next step.

Click Enter

Choose Goto and select Recordings

Click on  to create new record.



Enter the name and description for the new record.
 EMBED PBrush 
Click on  to proceed with the next step
Enter the transaction code that is used to process the creation/revision of data
in SAP.

Click on  to proceed with the next step.
This step starts the recording process. Changes made are recorded and will serve
as a format for the upload file. Ensure that all fields that need to be update
d should be included in the recording process.

Enter Company Code
Fill in the AR Invoice Document

4. Line Details ( Select the Revenue Account)

5. Enter Text Reference and CO Object or Profit Center (Double click on the line
item or use the scroll bar to locate the field)

Click  EMBED PBrush  or F3

Press Enter to record the process and close or save the entry ( You have the optio
n of not saving the document)
Click on  to save the changes. Once saved, the next screen would be the changes
that have been recorded. Check if all the fields required are captured. If not
, repeat the process and ensure that fields needed are recorded.

Click on Default All . Technical name as well as the descriptions appear beside th
e data keyed-in. The technical names will serve as the linkage in the upload fil
e and SAP.

Click on  to save the changes and  to proceed with the next step.
The screen shows that recording has been completed. Click on  .

2. Click on Batch Input Recording
3. Select the Recording

Click on  to store the data. Step 1 is completed. Click on  to proceed to Step 2

Step 2: Maintain Source Structure


Ensure the Step 2 is activated. Double click to maintain the structure.

Click on  to edit the structure
Click on  to create new structure


Create structure name and description.

Click on  to save the structure name.
Click on  to store the data. Step 2 is completed. Click on  to proceed with Step 3
.
STEP 3: Maintain Source Fields
Ensure that step 3 is activated. Double click to maintain source fields.
Click on  to edit the source fields.

Click on  to maintain the table for source fields.
This table shows the list of fields that is needed in the upload file. The field
names and the attributes are obtained in the LSMW-object overview.

Create a new session .



Input transaction code LSMW

Find the Project you are working on.

Click on  to proceed.
Click on  to proceed with the next step.

Click on table

This table shows the fields that need to be maintain in Step 3 except for the fi
rst two fields..

Go back to the maintenance of source fields.



Note: 1. Ignore the first two fields.
2. Perform a copy and paste for Field name, Field description and leng
th. However, the Type is
always C which represents Character .
Click on  to store the data. Click on  to proceed with the next step

The source fields as well as the orders are the guides in preparing the upload f
ile.
Click on  to store the data. The Step 3 is completed Click on  to proceed with St
ep 4.


Step 4: Maintain Structure Relations.


Ensure that Step 4 is activated. Double click to maintain structure relations


Click on  to edit the structure relations.

Step 5- Maintain Field Mapping and Conversion Rules
Ensure that step 5 is activated. Double click to maintain the field mapping.

Click on  to edit the field mapping.

Go to Extras > Auto-Fieldmapping


Below message will appear. Click  to accept the settings suggested by system.

Click on . This serves as a linkage between the data in the upload file to the S
AP.
Accept proposal for each of the source fields entered in the source structure (r
efer to Step 3).

For this exercise, there are 4 proposals for acceptance.
Confirmation appears once all proposals are accepted. Click on  to proceed with
the next step.
Rules have been set-up as shown below.
Click on  to complete Step 5. Click on  to proceed to Step 6.
Step 6- Maintain Fixed Values, Translations, User-defined Routines.
This step requires no update. Proceed to Step 7.

Step 7-Specify Files.
Ensure that step 7 is activated. Double click to maintain the rules in uploading
the file.

Click on  for edit mode.


Put the cursor on the Legacy Data-on the PC (frontend) and click on . This enables
the system to retrieve via PC.

Ensure to fill-up the fields as shown below.

The file should be in txt format. Click on  to save the rules.

Click on  to complete Step 7. Click on  to proceed to Step 8.
Step 8- Assign Files
Ensure that step 8 is activated. Double click to check to file assigned.

This shows the path of the source file to be uploaded.

Click on  to proceed to Step 9
Step 9: Read data
Ensure that step 9 is activated. Double click to read the data.

Click on  to read the data.

Check that the number of transactions read should match the source file. If the
number of records is inconsistent with source file, go to Step 8 and checked the
assigned file. If everything is in order, click on
 to proceed to the next step.


Click on  to move to Step 10



Step 10: Display read data
Ensure that step 10 is activated. Double click to read the data.

Click on  to proceed
Check that the data matches the source file. If everything is in order, click on
 to proceed to Step 11


Step 11-Convert Data
Ensure that step 11 is activated. Double click to convert the data.

Click on  to process the conversion.
Match the converted data with the source file. If everything is okay, click on  to
proceed to the next step.

Click on  to save the conversion and  to proceed to Step 12.

Step 12- Display Converted Data
Ensure that step 12 is activated. Double click to view the converted data.
Click on .

This report shows the data in the source file. If everything is okay, click on 
to proceed to Step 13,

Step 13- Create Batch Input Session.
Ensure that step 13 is activated. Double click to create batch input session.
Activate the Keep Batch input session and click on  to process the batch.
This confirms if the session is successfully created. Click on  to proceed to St
ep 14


Step 14- Run Batch Input Session.
Ensure that step 14 is activated. Double click to process the batch session.

Highlight the Session name and click on .

Activate the Background and click on Process .
