Our greatest and most valuable resource is human potential. History proves that some of the world’s greatest
leaders often emerge from places and circumstances we least expect. Junior Achievement brings the real world
to high need students, opening their minds to their unlimited potential. Together with our volunteers, partners and
supporters, we work to open the doors of opportunity to the students we serve. JANY leverages the power of this
unique community of people and organizations that care; our goal is to connect the classroom with key players and
decision makers from the business community, the academic community, government, policy makers and other
notable influencers who are crucial to the future of youth in New York City and Long Island.
Opportunity knocks as we stand poised on the threshold of an exciting future together. Those of us with
great advantages have a responsibility to share our good fortune by investing in opportunities that enable youth to
achieve. The return on our investment is the promise of a better and more prosperous world for us all. JANY needs
your commitment, dedication and support to continue thriving. We seek and value the support of leaders and
original thinkers from the business, academic sectors and community organizations whose ideas and contributions
create positive change. We invite former JA students to reconnect with an organization dedicated to preparing and
empowering young people to lead and succeed.
Become a member of a powerful community that drives progress. You can belong to our diverse pool of
volunteers and partners who inspire and mobilize like-minded people to achieve extraordinary things. With your support,
we can find new ways of forging connectedness – promoting engagement, collaboration and motivation to inspire and
prepare young people to succeed in a global economy. Each success story – every student we touch and impact – is
one step closer to a better future. As we move toward our 2010 plan, we welcome fresh and innovative leadership
perspectives to help us reach our goals. Share your life experiences, your time and resources with students to guide
them toward a more positive direction in life.
We seek:
• Volunteers from the business and academic sectors
• Board members – senior executives and decision makers
• JA alumni
• Corporate & media partnerships
• School and community partnerships
Come join us! Connect with the JA community to transform the lives of NYC and Long Island students.
