Brothers and Sisters, greetings in the name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ

Subject: Delusion and Deception

The Purpose: The main purpose of sharing this publication is to share with you what I have
found out about buzz words that are associated with the subject. I have sought the Lord in prayer
regarding this, have searched the scripture, and have made every attempt to verify my research
and most importantly, I have carefully considered whether or not to share this with many.
However, I chose to do so at the risk of losing the love and friendship of those I consider friends
in ministry and even being branded as a heresy hunter or one who lacks proper understanding of
scripture. Nevertheless, my love for God‟s truth in scripture outweighs all else and will stand on
his word alone even if that means being abandoned by those who say they are with me.

Introduction

While studying continually, about end time deception and delusion I came across an
article by Al Dager titled Kingdom Now Theology. In that article, Part 1, Section A,
Introduction, the following statements caused me to seriously consider the profound truth in the
article, it also reminded me our Lord Jesus cares enough about us to send the Spirit of Truth to
those who seek His truth. By reading, understanding and bearing witness to Al Dager‟s article
my ability to recognized false doctrine, false apostles and false prophets has only strengthened
my resolve to stand for God‟s truth only and to embrace true ministers of the gospel of Jesus
Christ.

“In every Christian's life there comes a genuine challenge to their intellectual honesty and, more
importantly, to their commitment to God's truth. Such a challenge is all the greater when
prompted by the realization that men and women whom we've held in high regard are
inadvertently or even knowingly leading us astray.

It isn't too difficult to accept the truth about the aberrant teachings and dangerous
practices of non-Christian cults; Christian bookstores are replete with publications on cult
belief systems and activities. But the same bookstores sell materials containing false
doctrines under the guise of "deep truths" and "new revelations." Many of these teachings
are gaining acceptance among a growing number of evangelical Christians, and are
increasingly finding expression in the Christian Media”.i

Page 1
SCHOOL OF CONTINOUS LEARNING

Pastor Edwin L. Wilcher

If you are lover of God‟s truth you should be able to bear witness with the
statements above. Once truth, scriptural truth is revealed, then you are responsible for
that revealed truth and what you do with it from that point on is entirely up to you, you
will either embrace the unleavened of God‟s word or reject it. It is totally up to you.

A. Do you know

A lie cannot stand on its own. It must, by its very nature be propped up by another lie.
Such a practice very quickly develops into a jumbled mass of deceit and chicanery in which truth
become increasingly blurred with the passage of time. However, the truth stands on its own,
strong immovable and permanent. It does not have to be defended by those who believe in it. It
defends itself from all its adversaries and emerges from attacks pure, simple and unscathed- the
truthii.

Beloved we must stand on biblical truth at all costs. In so doing, we will lose friends,
family members and those “Christians that love not the truth”. Beloved, believe not every spirit,
but try the spirit to see whether they are of God.

Again, Al Dager writes:

“I remind the reader of Paul's warning to the Corinthian Church in speaking of false
apostles and deceitful workers transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ: "...for
Satan Himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his
ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be
according to their works" (II Corinthians 11:15-15).

Satan's ministers will preach righteousness, morality, and family life. They will preach
against pornography, crime, homosexuality, abortion, and the corruption of the world
system.

While these are legitimate issues of vital importance, they are irrelevant in determining
whether the voice is from God or from Satan. Many cults stress righteousness and
morality. The only means we have to test the spirits is rightly dividing the Word of Truth.

Even the preaching of Christ crucified and resurrected is no longer a means of

determining if the spirit speaking is of God or Satan. Many cults call Jesus "Lord and

Page 2
SCHOOL OF CONTINOUS LEARNING

Pastor Edwin L. Wilcher

Savior," and "the only Way to the Father." Mormons believe in the Lord's bodily
Resurrection. They and Jehovah's Witnesses testify that they are saved by grace through
faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. But these declarations are nullified by deeper teachings to
which adherents are gradually indoctrinated. Satan uses this same tactic through various
"new revelations" within the Church itself. The tares are truly among the wheat!

For this reason, today more than ever, Christians must learn to distinguish between the
words of a teacher, and the spirit behind those words. Often the purity and simplicity of
the Gospel will be encroached upon by other teachings that, in aggregate, nullify the
Gospel and lead the hearer astray into doctrines of demons (I Timothy 4:1)”iii.

B. Buzz Words: The Spirit Behind Them

Let us consider the following Buzz Words that are being extensively used in the church
today. I have found that many in the church world do not understand the subtle meanings of
these words and because buzz words are used by “spiritual leaders” in the church world certain
words have become acceptable and practiced by many in the church today.

Little do they know the meaning of some of the words being spoken from the pulpit,
through tapes & books, through the electronic media i.e. TV, CD‟s/ DVDs and YouTube do not
necessarily mean what the word originally meant and have become twisted and perverted and
can lead the undiscerning down the broad way that leads to destruction (See Matt 7:13-20).

Many of these buzz words originated in the world of business and are business
management terms. Most of these words were popularized by people like the late Peter Drucker,
Edward Deming, Ken Blanchard and Peter Senge and others. These men have been recognized
by major corporations, city and state government as well as many federal governmental agencies
and the Armed Services as Management Guru‟s in the business world. These men teach
organizations how to manage “the organization” i.e. the people in organizations' to “corporate
think” and how to be more productive. Sadly, the same management techniques and buzz words
have crept into the church world and are used as biblical doctrine disguised as an “ A NOW
WORD, A FRESH WORD and A NEW REVELATION from God.

The same has found its way in to the local church by ministers who have been influenced
directly or indirectly by those who believe whole heartily in the errand teaching and is being

Page 3
SCHOOL OF CONTINOUS LEARNING

Pastor Edwin L. Wilcher

taught as sound doctrine. These techniques may have some value in the secular business world
and may very well be helpful in the streamlining the work place, but, it has no place in the
church world or as an addition to the word of God and taught as doctrine.

Some of the major purveyors of these techniques and buzz words come from men and
women in organizations like New Apostolic Reformation, International Coalition of Apostles,
World Christian Movement, Generals International, Global Prayer Network, National
Governmental Prayer Alliance, Rick Warren (Saddleback Church) and other nationally known
ministers and organizations.

Why do those who are heirs of salvation not study the scriptures for themselves as they should to
see if these things being taught are so, instead of clinging to every word they hear from popular
ministers regardless of their title, as solid truth? The scripture tells us to seek wisdom and to
follow after righteousness.

James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all [men]
liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him
James 1:6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave
of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
James 1:7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
James 1:8 A double minded man [is] unstable in all his ways.

The following biblical text clearly states what God the Father will do nations and people who
ignore the truth of his word:

Isaiah 66:4, I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them;
because when I called, none did answer; when I spake, they did not hear: but they did evil
before mine eyes, and chose [that] in which I delighted not
2Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after
their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
2Timothy 4:4 And they shall turn away [their] ears from the truth, and shall be turned
unto fables.

C. The Buzz Words Are:

Page 4

Pastor Edwin L. Wilcher

Activate: Is not is the Kings James Version of Bible

Definition: transitive and intransitive verb make something capable of action: to make something active
or operational, or become active or operational.

Biblical reference: None

When we hear Apostles/ Prophets say they are going to activate a gift in the life of any Christian they so
choose, how do they do that? Is it the will of God or the will of man to do such a thing? What does the
scripture say about activation? For one the word in not is scripture? So how did it come to be in the
church world today? The philosophy of men and the acceptance of the same by unlearned immature
Christians.

Col 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men,
after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

When a person accepts Christ Jesus into their hearts as saviour and Lord they are reconciled to God the
Father through the shed blood of Christ. When we come out of darkness into the marvelous light of Christ
the Lord then we become new creatures in Christ Jesus.

Romans 5:10, For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son,
much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away;
behold all things are become new.

Can man really activate a gift in you? 1 Corinthians 12:11 But all these worketh that one and the
selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.

Alignment / Divine alignment:

Align: ▸Definition: verb: align oneself with a group or a way of thinking

Alignment▸ noun: the act of adjusting or aligning the parts of a device in relation to
each other
noun: the spatial property possessed by an arrangement or position of things in a straight
line or in parallel lines
noun: an organization of people (or countries) involved in a pact or treaty

Page 5
SCHOOL OF CONTINOUS LEARNING

Pastor Edwin L. Wilcher

Align, Alignment, Divine alignment are not in scripture. However, the use of them in the church, to some
mean coming under the authority of the New Apostles/ Prophets. These ties back into the “revelation of
synergy”.

Note: I was once told “the reason Life In Christ was not growing is because I as pastor was not in the
proper alignment and I need to get into the divine order of God because God does work when the
order is not in proper alignment. I ponder this for awhile prayed and searched the scriptures to
see if this was so. I believed every this must be done decently and in order as described in 1Cor
14:40. I concluded, this alignment meant to come in alignment with the God ordained apostolic
authority.

Christian unity: When the local church hears the word unity it normally spurs one to think
about unity in the body. A people in one mind and one accord as they were on the day of
Pentecost, or the when the saints got together to pray of Peter when he was in jail, or when saints
gather around Paul to pray when he was almost stoned to death.

It is import to note that some churches align themselves with secular organization and
pagan religions for the sake of unity. This implies “all religions/faith leads to Christ
Jesus. What we see here is the formation of ecumenism
Another thing that falls under the banner of unity is unifying with people groups and
nations.

Consider the broader scope of Christian unity: Have you ever heard of Kaleidoscopic Global
Action Plan (KGAP)

Out of the Lausanne GCOWE has also come a think tank called a "Working Group on A
Kaleidoscopic Global Action Plan" that was formally commissioned by the GCOWE 2000
conveners in September 1988. Out of that working group there was developed the
"Kaleidoscopic Global Action Plan," a document "compiled from the writings, statements,
positions, conversations, discussions, suggestions, proposals, ideas, and interactions" of its
members.

The members of the Working Group were: David B. Barrett; Jay E. Gary; H. Vinson Synan;
Todd M. Johnson; Leslie Brierley; Patrick J. Johnstone; Gary K. Clark; John S. Mbiti; Tom
Forrest, CSsR; James W. Reapsome; V. David Garrison; Lamin Sanneh; and Manuel J. Gaxiola.

Page 6
SCHOOL OF CONTINOUS LEARNING

Pastor Edwin L. Wilcher

Tom Forrest is a Roman Catholic priest heavily involved in the ecumenical deception of the
Vatican. H. Vinson Synan is a well-known ecumenical charismatic. Jay Gary is an ecumenical
proponent of the United Nations whose beliefs closely align with New Age philosophy. John
Mbiti, from Kenya, is working with Global Mapping International to compile African proverbs
for integration into evangelization efforts. All in the Working Group are ecumenical toward the
Vatican and/or liberal "Christianity," several leaning toward social reform as essential to their
plan.

To demonstrate the influence of these men, it is stated in the Kaleidoscopic Global Action Plan
(KGAP): All the members of this group were widely-experienced theologians, missiologists, or
church or mission executives. Each of them has written or published extensively on and around
our subject for a total of 280 years (an average of 21.5 years each

“Again, dialogue is a two-way street. Why is it necessary to "genuinely understand" each other's position?
We already know that they are lost without Christ. If it is to convert them, dialogue isn't going to do it.
Nowhere in Scripture are we encouraged to bring false belief systems together for understanding. This is
a New Age concept designed to bring about "unity in diversity." And how can the full message of Christ
be "fully understood in all these contexts"? The message of Christ is not understood in any context but the
Word of God. This proposal reveals the WCM's belief that the Gospel is found in all the world's religions.
Only here it is extended to atheism and agnosticism!

That the World Christian Movement believes that it has God's mandate to alleviate the world's
problems is a testimony to how far it is removed from the purity of the Gospel.

Along the spiritual vein, the KGAP reveals it‟s bent toward the charismatic "signs and wonders"
movement:

Below are three of the 112 goals for “Christian unity for the body of Christ” set by KGAP

109. See the decade of 1990-2000 close as having been the greatest decade in Christian history
for signs and wonders, miracles, conversions, evangelism and evangelization; with the greatest
sign or wonder being Christians loving one another and gathering in unity everywhere.

110. Enable 300,000 itinerant charismatic evangelists to target unevangelized cities, countries,
and peoples by 2000, demonstrating power evangelism (John Wimber's term), power healing,
power intercession, and power encounters.

Page 7
SCHOOL OF CONTINOUS LEARNING

Pastor Edwin L. Wilcher

112. Deliberately exercise power evangelism in the world's least evangelized and most hostile
environments so that by AD 2000 power Christianity (gifted ministries of signs and wonders) is
not enjoyed solely in Christian lands.iv

Contemplative Prayer/Spirituality: definition: contemplative spirituality: a belief system that

uses ancient mystical practices to induce altered states of consciousness (the silence) and is
rooted in mysticism and the occult but often wrapped in Christian terminology; the premise of
contemplative spirituality is pantheistic (God is all) and panentheistic (God is in all).v

Contemplative Prayer: definition: As it is expressed in a modern day movement is mystically

(i.e. based on a technique or method) in which one empties the mind of thought through
repetition, usually of a word or phrase or focus on the breath. In this case the silence would be an
absence of thought, all thought.vi

The purpose of contemplative prayer is to enter an altered state of consciousness in order to

find one's true self, thus finding God. This true self relates to the belief that man is basically
good. Proponents of contemplative prayer teach that all human beings have a divine center and
that all, not just born again believers, should practice contemplative prayer.vii

Dominion/Dominionism/Dominion Theology: Definition Webster‟s 1828 unabridged

dictionary; n. [L. See Dominant.]

Sovereign or supreme authority; the power of governing and controlling. The dominion
of the Most High is an everlasting dominion. Daniel 4.
Power to direct, control, use and dispose of at pleasure; right of possession and use
without being accountable; as the private dominion of individuals.
Territory under a government; region; country; district governed, or within the limits of
the authority of a prince or state; as the British dominions.

In brief, dominion theology/kingdom theology (they are used interchangeability)

Dominion theology refers to a line of theological interpretation and thought with regard to the
role of the Church in contemporary society. Dominion theology is also known as Christian
reconstructionism and theonomy. Dominion theology states that biblical Christianity will rule all
areas of society, personal and corporate. Christian Reconstructionism reasons that society will be
reconstructed by the Law of God as preached in the Gospel and the Great Commission.
Theonomy is a post-millennial view believing that all of the moral laws contained in the Old
Testament are yet binding today. Although these might sound somewhat disparate, they have all
been closely linked together to the point that people often use the terms interchangeably.

Evangelicals: Include Charismatics, Baptists, Pentecostals, Methodists, AME, Presbyterians,

Assemblies of God, Lutherans, and so on, including most non-denominations. Our uniting beliefs
include emphasis on spiritual rebirth through accepting and following Jesus Christ as Lord and
Savior, and in upholding the inerrancy of the bible. Together we constitute the body of Christ,
the church of our Lord that transcends denominational and geographical boundaries.

Evangelism: Definition: Webster‟s 1828 unabridged dictionary; n. the promulgation of the

gospel. The definition is the same in Webster‟s revised unabridged edition 1913.

Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines evangelism as: 1: the winning or revival of personal

commitments to Christ. 2: militant or crusading zeal

Biblical Reference: Is used in terms of evangelist Acts 21:8, 2 Tim 4:5 and Ephesians 4:11. It is
interesting to note

Evangelization: Definition: Webster‟s 1828 unabridged dictionary; n. The act of evangelizing.

How is the word applied today?

Note: The words above are valid on when use in the proper context. It is when the minister
misinterprets the words and is given over to misuse and abuse of the people under their care.

Facilitate: Webster‟s1828 unabridged edition: Definition:

FACIL'ITATE, v.t. [L. facilitas, from facilis, easy.]
To make easy or less difficult; to free from difficulty or impediment, or to diminish it; to lessen
the labor of. Machinery facilitates manual labor and operations. Pioneers may facilitate the
march of an army.

Global/Globalism: Merriam-Webster definition: of, relating to, or involving the entire world

Biblical reference: The Great Commission infers the spreading the gospel throughout the world,
as well as, the Gospel of the kingdom must be preached then the end shall come. The scripture
also, speaks about a one world church and in the Woman riding upon a Scarlet colored beast

Identificational Repentance: This termed was first coined by John Dawson in his book
“Healing the Wounds of America”. John Dawson is the International President of Youth With A
Mission (YWAM).

Page 9
SCHOOL OF CONTINOUS LEARNING

Pastor Edwin L. Wilcher

Biblical reference: None. Albeit, the proponents of Indentificational Repentance (IR), have
identified and cites scripture they say supports belief in (IR). Some will say: the term is not used
in the scripture per se, however, the principle is there.

According to Dr. Gary S. Creig (Kingdom Training Network paper ( The Biblical Foundations of
Identificational Repentance as one Prayer Useful to Advance God‟s Kingdom and Evangelism)
Identificational repentance is a type of prayer which identifies with and confesses before God the
corporate sins of one‟s nations, people, church, or familyviii

Please see: Summary Report: AD2000 United Prayer Track at:

http://www.ad2000.org/re00623.htm

Repenting for the Sins of the Nation at:

http://www.bibleguidance.co.za/Engarticles/Nationsin.htm

Note: After you have read these references make your own decision if this doctrine has merit or
not. I believe when we repent we repent of our selves only we do not have the power to repent
for anyone‟s‟ sins other than our own. No matter how one tries to explain this doctrine let the
bible have the final say.

Impartation: Webster‟s1828 unabridged edition: Definition: n. the act of imparting or conferring.

[Not much used.]

Biblical reference: None. But impart and imparted are referenced in scripture.

Impart have two scriptural references: Luke 3:11, Romans 1:11

Imparted has two references: Job 39:17 and 1 Thessalonians 2:8

Note: In what context are the two references used? That is the context in which we should apply the terms
as we are moved by the spirit of God.

Intercessor: Webster‟s1828 unabridged edition: Definition, n. [L. See intercede.]

1. A mediator; one who interposes between parties at variance, with a view to reconcile them;
one who pleads in behalf of another.

The word is used in scripture in three forms:

Page 10
SCHOOL OF CONTINOUS LEARNING

Pastor Edwin L. Wilcher

Intercessor: Cited once: Isaiah 59:16

Intercession: Cited nine (9) times: Isaiah 53:12, Jeremiah 7:16, 27:18,36:25, Romans
8:26-27, 8:34, 11:2 and Hebrews 7:25

Intercessions: Cited once: 1 Timothy 2:1

In certain Spiritual Warfare Groups/Ministries the intercessor is one who goes beyond the
definition of an intercessor/mediator but can repent for the sins of immediate family members,
certain groups of people/nations and ancestors. This type of intercessor embraces the doctrine of
Identificational Repentance, again, this has no foundational basis in scripture.

If you will study the scriptural references above you will note the application and context of how
the word is applied.

Kingdom: Webster‟s1828 unabridged edition: Definition n. [king and dom, jurisdiction.]

5. In Scripture, the government or universal dominion of God. 1 Chron.29. Ps.145.

6. The power of supreme administration. 1 Sam.18.

7. A princely nation or state. Ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests. Ex.19.
8. Heaven. Matt.26.
9. State of glory in heaven. Matt.5.
10. The reign of the Messiah. Matt.3.
11. Government; rule; supreme administration

There are other definitions for “Kingdom‟, however, the definitions above is cited because we
are talking about the Kingdom of God as it relates to “Advancing the Kingdom God” or doing
“Kingdom Work”. The context the terms are used can mean the incorporation of Dominion
Theology as well as Kingdom Now Theology.

Mandate: Webster‟s1828 unabridged edition: Definition n. [L. mando, to command.]

1. A command; an order, precept or injunction; a commission. This dream all powerful Juno
sends; I bear Her mighty mandates, and her words you hear.

2. In canon law, a rescript of the pope, commanding an ordinary collator to put the person therein
named in possession of the first vacant benefice in his collation.

Page 11
SCHOOL OF CONTINOUS LEARNING

Pastor Edwin L. Wilcher

The word itself is not used in scripture. Nevertheless one hears from the various ministries “God
has given me a mandate”, “I have a mandate from scripture” and “The Spirit of the Lord has
mandated me to…” The scripture clearly states that God the Father, in the Old testament, chose
the prophets and kings of old to carry out certain functions and to go certain places to bless or
destroy nations. In the new testaments Christ Jesus and the Holy Ghost directed apostles and
prophets to perform certain function and go certain places. The Holy Ghost moved on Peter to
deal with Ananias and Sapphira. I see this as moving of the Spirit of God exercising his
sovereignty over all things.

What about when the bible tells us to “Study to show ourselves approved a workman that needth
not be ashamed but rightly dividing the word of truth”. What about the Ten Commandments or
the Greatest of Commandments “Love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, thy soul and thy spirit
and Love thy neighbor as thyself. Can these also be called mandates?

The key to understanding what is being said is: in what context is the speaker using the term
mandate what are they trying to convey? You must understand what is being conveyed to you
spirit man.

Pacesetters: Encarta® World English Dictionary, North American Edition, Definition:

1. leader in field of activity: a person or group regarded as being a leader in any field and one
whom others may emulate.

A pacesetter in itself is not a bad thing. Again, in what context is it used? In an article titled

The Sourcebook: A Prayer Pacesetter’s Dream, here are excerpts from that article

From New York City to San Francisco, from Minneapolis to Miami, and in Nairobi,
Amsterdam, Jakarta, Capetown, Hong Kong, Seoul, London, as well as throughout Central
America, Eastern Europe, and Canada . . . God is raising up a movement of united prayer for
spiritual awakening and world evangelization. Christians compelled by a growing desire to see
the Great Commission completed are gathering within cities and communities in regular concerts
of prayer. They’re meeting in churches and offices, in homes and on campuses. Concerted prayer
is growing on a scale far larger than anything we have known before. And prayer pacesetters are
leading the way!

Page 12
SCHOOL OF CONTINOUS LEARNING

Pastor Edwin L. Wilcher

This manual is specifically for prayer pacesetters. Are you a prayer pacesetter? You may have
never used the term before, but you may already be functioning as one, or have a growing desire
to do so. Here are some clues:

Pacesetters want to grow as men and women of prayer and help others to 
do the same. Do you?

Pacesetters believe the key to world evangelization is Christians united in 

prayer for spiritual awakening. Do you?

Pacesetters notice a growing hope inside of them that God is, in fact, 
bringing the Church to the threshold of a true spiritual awakening. Do
you?

Pacesetters desire to be part of the worldwide movement of prayer by 

joining up with others in united prayer right where they live. Do you?

Pacesetters are ready for a change from the same old approaches to cor-
porate prayer and are ready to pray with new vision and spirit. Are you?

Pacesetters are willing to commit themselves to others to pray Kingdom 

prayers until God answers, for their community and beyond. Are you?

Pacesetters are willing to begin, if necessary, with just a handful of others 

because they know the time has come for such a strategic effort. Are you?

Pacesetters sense a good possibility that God is asking them to help set 
the pace for a movement of concerted prayer in their churches or their
community and are looking for all the encouragement they can find. Are you?

If you answered yes to these questions, then consider yourself a prayer pacesetter. And if you’re
like most pacesetters, you recognize the need for some help and direction as you take up the
exciting work of serving united prayer where you live. What you really need is some good
coaching, and that’s exactly what this Source-book represents.ix See endnotes for the Weblink

Note: If you notice the explanations revolves around Ecumenism, Globalism and the World
Church Movement. In addition, another buzz word has appeared “Spiritual Awakening” and has
hints of New Age teaching and or Gnosticism. We will look at this buzz word later

Paradigm/ Paradigm Shift Webster‟s1828 unabridged edition: Definition n, paradigm [Gr.

example, to show. An example; a model. In grammar, an example of a verb conjugated in the several
modes, tenses and persons.

Today‟s definition:

Paradigm: a very popular ESOTERIC and confusing term used at least 27 different ways
by Thomas KUHN in his book The Structure of Scientific Revolutions (1962) to signify
"what members of a scientific community share." It is commonly taken to mean "a
coherent system of CONCEPTS which confers order on the whole field of knowledge or
a segment of it belonging to a particular scientific discipline." Kuhn's usage legitimates
RELATIVISM in many fields although he denies that his view is relativistic. In many
respects Kuhn's use of paradigm is similar to Dooyeweerd's more carefully defined
"Ground-Motive."x

Paradigm: An example or pattern, thus when learning a foreign language a typical verb
(or verbs) will be chosen to learn as paradigmatic for other verbs. Some historians of
science have referred to those patterns and models that govern our thinking as paradigms
and have said that a "paradigm shift", a change in these patterns, is needed for any real
breakthrough. By extension the word is used of those patterns of thought typical of
particular cultures or sub-cultures. In this case the acceptance of the Christian message
means a "paradigm shift".xi

In essence, a paradigm shift in the church means a rethinking, a re-shaping the word God to
bring it up to date with modern times and thoughts.

Page 14

Prayer/Spiritual mapping: This term or phase is not mentioned in the bible and is associated
with the spiritual warfare and strategic prayer movements. So then, where did it come from and
why is it used so extensively in the church?

What is Prayer Mapping?

Pull out a map of your state and look it over. What does it tell you? Roads, highways, directions,
points of interest, topical information like mountains and waterways and elevations, city and
town names, distance information, locations of parks and probably some blowups of major cities
and their road systems. The map makes it easy to navigate around the state. Think what it would
be like trying to visit a city within your state by taking off in a car without a map in the hope you
will eventually hit upon it.

A prayer map or spiritual map tries to provide information in the spiritual realm as a regular map
does in the natural realm. It is looking at a geographic territory from a spiritual perspective. The
purpose? There is only one bottom line reason to prepare a prayer map for a city, town or region:
in order to pray effectively to bring that territory under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. The prayer
map assesses the current spiritual conditions in the area so that a strategy can be drawn to
recover any ground currently in the possession of the enemy, Satan, and his demonic hoard.xii

Also see the article published in Christianity Today

http://www.christianitytoday.com/ct/1998/january12/8t1055.html

Note: Jesus did not prayer map nor did he teach his disciples to. In addition, nowhere in the
Pauline epistles did Paul teach the concept of prayer mapping or spiritual mapping to target the
demonic in the spiritual realm. This doctrine/teaching and the practice of it has absolutely no
basis in scripture. This is a part of the “New revelation, A Now Word, A Rhema Word and A
Fresh word from the Spirit of God „movement.

Here is what the scripture says about God‟s truth: John 8:31 Then said Jesus to those Jews
which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, [then] are ye my disciples indeed; John 8:32
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Spiritual Warfare: Webster‟s1828 unabridged edition: Definition, Warfare, n. [war and fare.]

Military service; military life; war.

The Philistines gathered their armies for warfare, 1 Samuel 28.
2. Contest; struggle with spiritual enemies.
The weapons of our warfare are not carnal. 2 Corinthians 10.

WARFARE, v.i. To lead a military life; to carry on continual wars.

In that credulous warfaring age. [Little used.]

Warfare is mentioned only five times in scripture 1 Samuel 28:1, Isaiah 40:2, 1 Chronicles 9:7, 2
Chronicles 10:4 and 1 Timothy 1:18. In not one of these passages of scripture does the writer
intends or infers that we are to war against demons or devils in the heaven.

Note: When studying Spiritual Warfare remember there are two views. 1) The accepted
Worldview and, 2) There is the Biblical View. Will be addressing this point is a future paper.

Strategic prayer: Strategy is not mentioned in scripture. However, the definition is

1. Of or relating to strategy.
Important or essential in relation to a plan of action
b. Essential to the effective conduct of war.
c. Highly important to an intended objective
3. Intended to destroy the military potential of an enemy

This terminology is use in the spiritual warfare and is associated with Pray and Spiritual
Mapping and ties directly into the practice of “Warring In The Spirit” (Spiritual Warfare
Doctrine). The type of spiritual warfare has no foundation is scripture.

Synergy is also a concept being adapted and taught today as a major tenet of the Third
Wave, New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) movement. Dutch Sheets was one of the first
to introduce this concept to that movement back in the National School of the Prophets -
Mobilizing the Prophetic Office Conference at Ted Haggard's New Life Church in
Colorado Springs, CO on May 12, 2002. Dutch Sheets began his message by saying this:

“I do not want to sound sensationalistic when I say this but I am going to title it the way that I am because
it is a phrase that God gave me very clearly just a week or so ago and I have been meditating on this
phrase ever since in this particular form it is the first time I have ever ministered this word I, I believe it's
a fresh word from the Lord for us and the phrase that he gave me was the synergy of the ages. ... This is
the revelation God has been bringing to me, it is a synergistic joining century defined as the combined
action of 2 or more which have a greater total effect than some of their individual efforts”.xiii

Synergy is also used by Steven Covey in his Seven Habits series: Habit Six- Synergize

“Synergy happens when two people [or companies] with profoundly different ideas are able to
listen to each other respectfully and with real empathy for the other person‟s position, enough to
let go of their own preconceptions. When they do this people become creative, rather than
defensive. And this is when an elevated, third way, can be established that is better than what
either party started with on their own. Synergy is not about compromise. It is about creating a
whole that is greater than the sum of its parts. It is about creating third ways.”xiv

Synergy means that the whole is greater than sum of its part
Is the process that reveals the third Alternative
The way to create synergy is to create an environment that supports it.xv

Special note to readers:

It should be noted that not all speakers who use these buzz words are trying to deceive the
people. They may be caught up in the popularity of the word(s) and they themselves may not
know the spirit behind them. So, my point is, when you hear any of the buzz words pay close
attention to the context in which they are being used and get to know the person and the spirit
that is using them. If you are not sure what they mean, ask them.

I also know that everyone who reads this publication will not agree with all the contents herein
and some may even discard it all together… that‟s okay with me. I have attempted to share my
studies with you and, hopefully sparked your interest in what is happening in the church today.

For those who do read it in its entirety please have your bible along side of you as you read this
material and seek the Lord for his truth to be revealed. See where your study will lead and what
truths will be revealed to you.

Remember: 1 John 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of
God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

Your thoughts and comments are welcomed.

May our Lord Jesus Christ richly bless you!
