2010 Britt Poster "The Magic of Music"

by Artist & Actress Kim Novak
Britt Festivals unveiled its 2010
Fine Arts Poster at a reception
on Thursday evening, May 20,
at the Britt Pavilion. This year’s
work is a pastel by artist Kim
Novak, and the poster is the
27th in a series celebrating Britt
through the visual arts.
Kim Novak was the #1 box
office movie star in the world in
the late 1950s, and is acclaimed
for roles in such films as Picnic,
Pal Joey, and Alfred Hitchcock’s
Vertigo. Novak left Hollywood
to pursue her loves of painting
and poetry, and to pursue a
lifestyle in harmony with nature.
During her youth, she received
scholarships to the famed Art
Institute of Chicago, and after
her film career she studied with
several well-known art teachers.
She works mainly in watercolors
and pastels, and the 2010 Britt
Fine Arts Poster is a print of
Novak’s original pastel “The Magic of Music.” The 2010 poster may be purchased at the
gift booth during Jacksonville concerts or at the Britt office in Medford beginning May 21
for $20. Limited edition signed prints are also available for $35. The original artwork will be
auctioned off at a later date, with proceeds benefiting Britt Festivals. Call 779-0847 for
more information.
