1. Welcome to our first full week of school!

2. Our faculty meeting is this Wednesday, 9/15 at 3:10 in the

media center.

3. Weather permitting we will have a second fire drill Tuesday or

Wednesday. Please line up all classes on the field; it was difficult
to see the classes lined up by the playground equipment.

4. This week we will continue our morning line up with K – 2, A1, A2

outside and 3 – 6 inside. Please remember that Matthew Addeo
is stationed on the second floor to bring 1st and 2nd grade bus and
latchkey students to the all purpose room and an aide from 5/6B
is stationed outside Marc’s room to bring down the 3rd and 4th
grade bus and latchkey students.

5. If you are still having difficulties with Genesis, please let Yvette
know by the end of the day today.

6. At the faculty meeting I will be collecting your preferred times for

your team planning and grade level meetings. We will also
discuss ideas for displays/activities for September 28th.

7. Please make sure you review Aesop procedures to be prepared in

case of an absence.

8. If you have any difficulties with emails and or other tech issues
you can place a work order request with schooldude IT.

9. This week we will begin our daily morning announcements. End

of the day announcements (when necessary) will be done at
about 2:45 PM.

10. The daily bell system has been reprogrammed. Bells have been
designated for the following times:
• 8:30
• 8:40
• 8:50
• 11:50
• 12:15
• 12:40
• 2:50
• 2:55
• 3:30

11. Please note that classes with specials at the end of the day will
be dismissed by the “special” teacher. That being said, keep in
mind that students’ backpacks must be placed in an area inside
the specialist’s classroom/area. Backpacks cannot be in hallways
or common areas.

12. Please keep in mind that room 201 is now a classroom for
students with ASD. If you need to retrieve books for your
reading libraries/reading instruction, please do not go while
classes are in session; it is sometimes very difficult for those
students to handle disruptions/interruptions. Rather, it is best to
go before classes start or, at the end of the day.

13. If you place a “lunch order” please be sure to be

available/waiting when your order arrives. The secretaries will
not be able to collect money or call individual teachers each time
a delivery person arrives.

14. There will be a PTA meeting this Thursday, 9/15 at 7:00 PM.
All are invited to attend.

15. Next week:

• Wednesday 9/22 Back to School Night 7:00 PM

Thank you for your flexibility and cooperation during our first
few days of school. Everyone has pulled together as a team to
ensure an orderly, safe, arrival and dismissal procedure for our
students. We will continue to make adjustments until we
reach a more efficient process, in the meantime, I appreciate
your continued assistance.
As we begin our year, let us focus on the passion we have for
our profession, the high expectations we have for ourselves
and our students , and the challenging instruction we will
provide so that every child can achieve his/her highest
success.

Have a great week,

Marianela
