• 49 states now have some form of law recognizing the right of
law-abiding citizens to carry firearms for personal and family
protection.
• In Illinois you are prohibited from carrying a firearm for
personal protection and would be committing a felony if you
did so.
• You may apply for a non-resident carry permit from places
such as Utah, Florida and Pennsylvania. Such a permit would
allow the carrying of a firearm for protection in any state that
recognizes that permit - which, of course, excludes Illinois.
• The states that have enacted right to carry programs consis-
tently have lower violent crime rates. Violent criminals think
twice about attacking people in areas that recognize the right
to carry.
• 91 out of 102 counties in the state of Illinois have already
passed pro second amendment resolutions.
In these increasingly dangerous times, do you want your government to
keep you and your family defenseless against aggressive attackers?
If you are disturbed by these facts and find Illinois laws regarding
self-defense alarming, you can do something about it! Contact your
state legislators. Tell them we need a comprehensive right to carry
program that would allow us to protect our families the way the rest of
the nation does. Tell them to put politics aside and get serious about
the safety of the people of Illinois!
