The bar for baseball has officially been raised at Timber Creek High School.
Since the program's inception in 2002, the Wolves have routinely pieced together solid regular seasons but ha
come tournament time.
Until now.
On Friday, Timber Creek made its first final four appearance at the state tournament after getting past Hagert
Mandarin in regionals. And that was after losing the District 4 title game and being forced to win on the road fr
The season ended a little early though, as the Wolves met up with national-power Pembroke Pines' Flanagan a
semifinals.
As bittersweet a finish as it is, Class 6A Coach of the Year Scott Grove said his team is anxious to get back to w
at a title next season.
Missing will be eight seniors, who will move on to play baseball at the collegiate level. Returning is a collection
this year's team.
"For those kids to get a taste of what it's all about is only going to make them want it that much more," Grove
title.
And it appears the players are not the only ones that will be looking forward to another exciting season. There
Timber Creek faithful for the final game of the year in Port St. Lucie last week.

"You really couldn't ask for anything better in terms of support from the administration, on down to the comm
Having experienced a state berth and runner-up finish as head coach of Colonial High School in 2000, the mag
was not lost on the former minor league pitcher.
"It was nice to see the looks on the players' faces when we got out on the field," he said.
The Wolves closed out the season with a 24-8 overall mark.
Then they got past Boone in the semifinals, 3-2, to qualify for regionals as junior Spencer Angelis and sophom
runs.
Freedom would eventually turn away TCHS for the district title game with a 5-2 decision at Winter Park.
Trailing 1-0 in the sixth with one out and runners at first and third, senior Tyler Marincov chopped the first pitc
in pinch-runner Milton Alvira and knot the game.
Angelis later drove in Austin Moore that same inning for what proved to be the winning run on a pop-up to righ
Senior Jonathan Dydo struck out seven and allowed just two hits over seven innings.
But the Patriots gave one final push as McPherson, who struck out five, was forced to record the final out of th
behind him.
The Wolves scored two runs in both the third and fifth innings, thanks in part to fielding errors by Freedom. Ma
the way with three hits as the Wolves finished with nine as a team.
Held hitless through four innings, Timber Creek lit the scoreboard first in the top of the fifth when Anderson ho
in a run on a single. They tacked on two more runs in the sixth when Angelis drove in a run and Anderson adv
passed ball.
But they would get no closer as they went on to trail 6-4 entering the seventh.
Angelis, McPherson and Castro each finished 2-for-3 on the night. Sharp, Anderson and Moore reached base sa
the final outing of the year.
